    Easy Like Sunday Morning…

    Tina thought of Bette’s words of being afraid of sharing Tina when they started their family, it wasn’t until this moment, when Tina held her love in her arms that the statement Bette had made held any significance, how would they cope with a baby, emotionally, would they still have time for each other, would their love for each other dissipate because of lavishing so much love on a baby, was their enough love to go around for them all, would she still love Bette this much when she carried their child, when her focus would be on the baby, what if she couldn’t have a child, would Bette still love her if she couldn’t have their baby.

    Her eyes suddenly opened as her mind turned over the thoughts of maybe she wouldn’t be able to get pregnant, there was no telling, who knew whether she could carry full term, what if she lost their child, how she would cope with not being able to give Bette a child. Thoughts of their afternoon at the beach invaded her mind, the pictures of Bette and Emily sat on the blanket, heads together, deep in conversation and the look of adoration on the child’s face as she looked into Bette’s eyes, and the returning gaze that said so much from Bette. She was going to make a great mother; Tina smiled as she remembered Bette’s words of how their child was going to be the best and how she was going to build the biggest and best sandcastle on the beach.

    Tina came to the conclusion that her love ran so deep that words were impossible to formulate as a reasonable choice to explain the abyss that was, ‘being in love with Bette Porter’, it knew no bounds, it was all consuming, it took over her life when she first laid eyes on her and only grew in magnitude, her conclusion was that she was also afraid. Afraid of sharing Bette. She selfishly didn’t want Bette to love anyone else as much as she loved her, she didn’t want someone else being the centre of Bette’s world, she wanted Bette to herself, was there room for anyone else?

    Tina remembered the photograph that Bette had arranged to be taken of them in the foyer, her heart had skipped a beat when she saw the image, her mouth went dry and she had difficulty swallowing, seeing the love emanating between them was so intense it brought her emotions to the surface. She knew that the photo would take centre stage on their mantel, it would hold so many significant memories of the last few days and the final thought as she had looked at the picture was that ‘we got through it, we made it through to the other side’.

    Tina brought her lips to the warm flesh of Bette’s shoulder, her voice quietly uttering her previous thoughts, "we made it baby, we got through it…"

    "Mmmm" came the muffled reply.

    Tina pulled their bodies closer, her lips continuing to graze the glowing body in front of her as her own body began the familiar movements behind. The sensations of being deeply in love overtaking her, her mind had been busy, now it was the turn of her body to confirm just how much she was in love.

    "Do you know how much I love you baby…?" Tina whispered into the ear of the stirring form in front of her.

    "To the moon and back…?" came the mumble.

    "Oh no baby, not even close…"
