Front Porch Tales
It was getting late and it was time to call it a night. As much as she wished to continue their conversation, Mrs. Robinson was expecting her at home before midnight.
“I love it out here. We always used to come here at night.” She said
Tina just smiled and nodded.
“It’s getting late, we should go.”
They stood up and walked along the walkway till they reached the restaurant. Bette gently pulled on Tina’s arm and stopped her from moving ahead. She looked straight into her eyes and said.
“Tee, I’m sorry about tonight.”
A few minutes later, they reached outside of Tina’s house. She slowly let go of Bette’s arm and grabbed her keys from her purse.
“I had a lovely time tonight,” she smiled.
“So did I.”
Bette slowly moved forward and gave Tina a small kiss on her lips. Both of them smiled at each other.
Bette then headed towards her car. She waved Tina one last goodbye before disappearing around the corner.

The next day, in the car on her way back to pick up Angelica, the memories of the day Julie died came back to Bette in bits and pieces.
Minutes turned into an hour, and then became two and Julie still hadn’t returned. Bette began to get worried. She immediately placed a call to Tim and asked him to check out the usual route Julie jogged. It was getting very late and since Angelica was already asleep she didn’t want to leave her alone.
Three hours later, Michael stood in front of Bette’s porch with his wife.
“Bette, I think you’d better come with me Lucy can stay here with Angelica.” He said softly “There’s been an accident.”
From his expression, Bette knew instantly what Michael was trying to tell her.
~~~
Twenty minutes later Bette reached the school ground, as she walked towards the classroom she saw Tina and Angelica swinging in the school playground giggling and talking. She stood there for a moment before walking towards them. She could see Tina’s face flushed from the afternoon heat. She looked so beautiful. She was dressed in a pair of jeans with a green tee-shirt and a comfortable pair of sandals. Bette wondered how she could look both casual and elegant at the same time. She stood there until Angelica spotted her and quickly ran towards her mom.
I agree with Lauren25, PPS :o).
HaHa, not funny. Why do I get the feeling that this Pete guy and his gang have something to do with Julie’s death.
WOW!!! Great Chapter!!!! Thank you
Great post, enjoying your story.
It is a start that they are beginning to talk about each other. Angelica is already feeling very comfortable with Tina and Bette seems to feel that way too. Glad that the story is not ending.
Tina is definitely the one who can make Bette smile again. And damn Jerry all to hell.
Damn, I was hopping that was the end.Just kidding, I love the story. I am generally one of the silent readers, but I like how you played us on the fake ending…PPS
I always love the srories where Bette seems to just be falling all over herself even though she is an Alpha force of nature – there as entertaining as alice and her antics. Love this story, PPS!
