“Here, this is for you.” She quickly brought out a set of children’s story books and handed it to Angelica.
“What’s this for Ms. Tina?” she asked.
“It’s a set of children’s storybooks Angel. I just wanted you to have something to read while you’re here. Your mommy said that you love to read,” Tina said.
Angelica nodded and quickly hugged Tina “Thanks Ms. Tina.”
As soon as Bette approached, Tina stood up again and greeted her with a kiss. “I was just kidding earlier you know. You look adorable too, no you look beautiful.” She said while holding both of Bette’s hand in hers. Bette just nodded smiling that big smile of hers.
“You ready for dinner?” Tina asked.
“Whenever you are” She answered
An hour later after dinner, Bette and Tina were sitting outside Tina’s front porch, while Angelica was inside reading the story books that Tina gave her earlier on.
“It’s so peaceful here.” Bette said while sipping her coffee
Tina nodded.
“Can I ask you something?” Bette looked into Tina’s eyes.
“Sure.” She said.
“It might sound strange though.”
Tina just nodded encouraging her on.
Bette cleared her throat. “Well, I was wondering what your favorite cereal is?”
“Excuse me?” Tina asked perplexed.
Bette was suddenly so embarrassed that she stuttered as she asked again.
“Well you know, everyone has their own favorite cereal and I’m just wondering what’s yours.”
“You’re funny, Bette Porter.”
Bette smirked a little.
“That’s what they all say… so?” she asked again.
“You’re not kidding are you?”
Bette just shook her head no.
“I like Cocoa Krispies. Satisfied?” She said with a mystified laugh.
Bette just nodded. For a while they sat there in silence. The comfort of each other’s presence felt so comfortable to them, like they had known each other for their entire lives.
“You have always lived here right?” Tina asked.

It is a start that they are beginning to talk about each other. Angelica is already feeling very comfortable with Tina and Bette seems to feel that way too. Glad that the story is not ending.
Tina is definitely the one who can make Bette smile again. And damn Jerry all to hell.
Damn, I was hopping that was the end.Just kidding, I love the story. I am generally one of the silent readers, but I like how you played us on the fake ending…PPS

I always love the srories where Bette seems to just be falling all over herself even though she is an Alpha force of nature – there as entertaining as alice and her antics. Love this story, PPS!
