    Front Porch Tales

    ~~~
    “I was having a drink at The Tavern as usual.  When I reached there I saw Peter and his gang talking to Richard Andrews the mechanic guy. You still remember him right?”
    “Yeah.” She nodded “Peter, you mean Peter Connelly?”
    “Yeah and I was sitting next to their table, Richard looked so scared like he was about to nearly pee in his pants or he probably did.   That’s when I overheard them talking.”
    “What were they talking about Terry?”  Bette asked
    “They were threatening him to pay his overdue money but he said he didn’t have it, that’s when I heard Peter say that nobody screwed with him. He gave him one week to get the money ready or they’d do the same thing to him as had happened to Julie.”
    ~~~

    Thirty minutes later Bette was already in front of Peter’s compound.  For seven years, Bette had waited for this moment and for those seven years she had blamed herself over Julie’s death.

    She unbuckled her seatbelt and slowly got out of her car.  She surveyed her surroundings watching for any movement, when she found nothing she walked towards Peter house.  It was ominously quiet that morning, the only sound that Bette could hear that morning was that of a single bird chirping somewhere.

    As she walked towards Peter’s house, suddenly Peter’s brother Tony appeared on his doorstep.

    “What do you want, Porter?”  He asked while lighting his cigarette.  He was a big guy double the size of Bette.

    “I’m here for Peter.  Bring him out.”  Bette slipped the safety latch off of the gun she was holding and found her hand on the trigger ready to shoot; her heart thumping hard and sweat forming on her forehead.

    “Why are you here Porter?” Peter said coming behind Tony holding a cup of coffee.

    “You’re under arrest Peter. Put your hands above your head.”  When he saw Bette’s gun pointed at him, he took a small step back.

    “What’s the charge?” His asked his voice getting angrier.

    “I want you to slowly put down your cup and put your hands above your head where I can see them.”

    1. I hope that whatever happens that Bette can move on with Tina. They make a very good couple. Both have been hurt because of different situations, but with each other they can move forward.

    2. I agree with Amanda she needs hard evidence Bette being a cop should know you can’t trust a criminal especially one who is afraid they would do or say anythind to get out. At least she has Tina to comfort her.

    3. Hey Search, Good to see that Bette is finally getting the closure over Julie’s death that she needs to be able to move forward completely with Tina. Sweet to see the concern and love flowing from Tina when she realizes that her partner is hurting. This open communication is most attractive and wonderful. Many thanks for these delightful additions. Your Loyal Fan.

    4. I hope they have more evidence too,dont let anything bad happen to tina/angie either.but let them put this behind them where they can be happy with their lives.p.p.s.
