Peggy’s flight was just landing in LAX. She had to resort to a commercial carrier due to the last minute nature of her trip. She was wading through the masses looking for her driver when her cell phone went off. Stopping to retrieve her call Peggy didn’t recognize the number.
"Hello"
"Hello Peggy this is Harry." Peggy’s attorney greeted her grimly.
"Oh Harry, darling I didn’t recognize your number. You don’t sound too pleased."
"Peggy I have bad news. If you are near a television turn it on to CNN."
"I’m at the LAX currently so just tell me what’s going on." Peggy is a little over the drama.
"Right." Harry says and then takes a deep breath and launches into it "Peggy the San Francisco DA is currently having a press conference which is being picked up by CNN and probably carried nationwide. He is indicting Helena on four counts of fraud, three counts of willful disregard for public entity and a few other issues which I don’t think will stick." When Harry was done talking he waited for Peggy’s response. After a long pause of nothing "Peggy are you still there?"
"Yes Harry I’m here. We are too late. Damn." Peggy says trying to calculate how she can extract Helena out of this mess. "Harry I need you to fly out here immediately we need to extract Helena out of this mess and see what kind of restitution will make these charges go away."
"Peggy you know I will be there as soon as humanly possible but from the looks of things, it looks like they went hunting for Helena. She is the target of an investigation. You know as well as I do this is just too juicy for the DA to walk away from willingly. There will be things that need to be done to make this one go away." Harry warned Peggy.
Peggy again felt her age as she stood in this middle of this busy airport with people bumping her and her mission dubious and her success unlikely. "Yes Harry I am aware. Just do what you can."
Chapter 159 – Steamrolled
Bette and Tina make their way into the courtroom with Jack following a step behind. All of the sudden everything seemed to be on fast forward with the bailiff calling for all to rise before they had even gotten a chance to sit down. Judge Russell makes his way into the courtroom and the quiet hum of the court proceeding begin. Before Bette could even get comfortable in her seat she heard her name being called.

OK ive waited so long for that and YES YES YES it was so worth it,right now i dont really care about Helena tho i know its a huge part of the story!!! i think youve done an amazeing job with not just this chapter but this whole complicated intense story…Excuse me now but im going to go back and read it again…sigh!
Ah, Helena gets a royal kick in the behind and Bette & Tina are complete, I like that just fine! Great Peggy P.
Finally, the last secret is out, great how you got Helena out of the courtroom, is Helena going to prison, dying to find out what happens.

I really wanted to comment earlier about how Tina will be when she finds out that Bette was there and Bette didn’t tell her. I was hoping that you will write a compassionate and understanding Tina (of Bette’s promise to Dr. Wilson) but I didn’t want to influence you; but my gut feeling told me that you will write this chapter as you did. It is definetly not too long. I think Helena finally realizes the consequences of her actions. I wonder if Peggy will have the resources/power to get Helena out of this one. How can you be angry with someone that loves you that much? Helena will look good in Jail house orange. It a shame that Peggy has to go throught this. She has always done so much for so many. Helena didnt know that Bette knew that the nurse was holding Tina hand. She is a wicked human bit of s**t. thanks
I loved Tina’s reaction, her understanding. There is so much love between them. What a way to reveal the secret. I thought Jack was going somewhere with his question to Bette about the authenticity of the photos and then boom, there it was. Good job, J. Now, on to the finale too see what Helena gets!! Excellent!!! This story is phenomonal abd beautifully written. I have enjoyed it so much and i will be sad to see it go. However I believe you have taken the story as far as it could go. I hope this is not the last I read from you..maybe a B&T beginning with a twist?!? until then I will be rereading your other story(the title just left my mind. Can’t wait for the next chapter!!!
This is the one I’ve been waiting for and it was perfect. Bette deserved a private moment to tell Tina she witnessed their child’s birth and you found a wonderful way to do it. Thank you for kicking Helena to the curb in a way that she couldn’t be rescued by money. Now I’m ready to say goodbye to this masterfully written story. You’ve earned a rest and I’ll be here patiently awaiting whatever you write.

This is unfuckingbelievable, when Bette say the nurse that was holding Tina’s hand, I gasp and shock that she did say it out loud in court and happy that Tina know, they are talk and everything good now.
