She held Bette close, stroking her back in a comforting way as Bette kept sobbing in her arms. After a few minutes Bette stopped crying, she brought her arms around the blonde and buried her face in her neck, enjoying the comfort she found in Tina’s arms. They stayed like that for a while, just holding each other close as Bette calmed down.
Tina was worried for Bette but she decided not to push her, she would let her take her time and not press her into telling her what was going on. She was glad that she decided to go over to the brunette’s house tonight. As Bette had left the Planet earlier that day Tina had seen the look on Bette’s face, it was a look of pain and sadness. Tina knew that Bette wasn’t one to go to her friends for comfort or help, she would just dwell in her own pain and that was exactly what Tina had found her doing when she got here.
Bette broke the hug and self-consciously looked down at her hands, she was embarrassed for her outburst and she hated the fact that Tina was the one to see her this way.
“I’m sorry” she said weakly, keeping her eyes on her hands.
Tina looked at Bette with worried eyes and then gently stroked a brown lock behind her ear “You have nothing to be sorry for” she said softly.
Bette casted a quick glance at Tina before looking back down at her hands “I’m a mess” she sighed, resting her head in her hands “I don’t want you to see me like this”
Tina took a hold of one of Bette’s hands that supported her head and brought it up to her lips, placing a soft kiss on the back of it “You may be a mess but you’re a beautiful mess” she smiled.
Bette glanced up at Tina and couldn’t help but chuckle “A beautiful mess?”
“Yeah” Tina smiled and placed another soft kiss on the brunette’s hand. She stood up and looked down at Bette “I’ll go make some coffee, it will help sober you up” she smiled before walking towards the kitchen. Bette let out a deep breath as she rested back against the couch.
