“Um…so we’re leaving we were just getting some coffee to go” Karen said, motioning to the coffee in her husband’s hands.
“Ok” Bette gave her a small smile.
“It was great seeing you Bette”
“You too”
Karen and her husband left as Bette slowly sat down again, her facial expression blank.
Tina watched her intently “Hey are you ok?” she asked, placing her hand on the brunette’s arm.
“Um…yeah” Bette answered quietly.
“Who was that?” Alice asked curiously.
“That was…nobody” Bette answered quietly “Look I think I’m going to take off” she said standing up.
“Where are you going?” Tina asked, scrunching her eyebrows at the brunette’s strange behavior.
“I’m just going home” Bette smiled weakly as she gathered her bag and keys “I’ll see you guys later”
Tina rang the door to Bette’s house and heard stumbling inside before the door flew up in front of her as Bette was leaning on to it.
“I got this” Tina said, holding up a bottle of scotch “You looked like you could use a drink when you left the Planet but I guess you’ve already had one…or two” Tina said, studying the brunette as she was holding on to the door for support, her eyes glazed showing off her drunken state.
“What are you doing here?” Bette slurred.
“I’m here because I care about you” Tina said before moving past Bette to get in. She placed the bottle of scotch down on the end table in the living room before walking back towards Bette to help her over to the couch.
“Tina you shouldn’t be here” Bette said as Tina closed the front door and grabbed onto Bette’s arm.
“You’re my friend and I worry about you” Tina said as she helped Bette to sit down on the couch. Bette reached for the half drunken glass of scotch on the end table by the couch but Tina quickly moved it away.
“I think you’ve had enough Bette”
“Give me the glass Tina” Bette said in a slightly angered tone.
“No Bette just relax…you’ve had too much already”
“Give me the glass”
“Bette” Tina sighed “What’s going on?”
Bette looked down at her hands and all of a sudden she broke out in tears. She buried her head in her hands as the sobs took over her body. Tina quickly placed the glass of scotch back down onto the table taking a seat next to the brunette and bringing her into her arms.
