We eat some breakfast when we are finished, the phone call is still absent making me nervous again. Helena is relaxing on the couch while I clean out the already shiny kitchen. The telephone rings at 08 25, ripping of the heavy silent that have coated my home. No words are said as we drive to the hospital. Henry is already there, and as soon as Helena and I are seated in the giant couch, Alice, Carmen, Shane and Lara also trudge in, looking just as somber as I feel. Helena do not once let go of my hand. A doctor gives us some information before leaving us again, we all sit in our own silent, Shane and Alice occasionally leaves to take a cigarette or ten. Helena is reading a newspaper, Lara is dozing and Carmen is trying to book.

After an hour I take the liberty to ask if anyone wants coffee, Shane offers to walk with me. “So are you doing?” Shane pats me friendly on the back as she leads me around corner. “I am fine, just overwhelmed, but I guess we all are” I smile back at her. “Yeah man, poor Tina I hope everything will be okay, Tina has to be okay” Shane points to the approaching coffee machine. “I have a good feeling, she has to be fine for the kids” I give her a dollar. As soon as the words leave my mouth I see Shane jerk up from her crouch position. “Tell me Shane, any news?” I pat the place beside me at the nearest bench. “Carmen and I have been trying for a while to become pregnant?” I smile as she drifts off for a while. “Our doctor called today, we’re becoming parents, and can you believe it?” Shane’s face explodes into a great smile then it disappears again. “What’s wrong?” I prompt her immediately. “I just feel bad for being happy on a day like this” her eyes diverts down. “Shane, congratulation” I give her a sideway hug. “You should be happy Shane, this is great news. I am so proud of you” I give her a friendly nudge.

When we come back Tina’s family has arrived. Tina’s mom has never liked me; her father is a very nice man. Her sister Stephanie is just like Tina’s mom. They have gathered in the other sofa staring daggers at me. After a rather chilly greeting, where Henry and I are told exactly what are thought of us by Tina’s mother and sister, we are back to the comfortable silence. Helena and Alice go for walk, Lara goes to find something to eat, I decide not to do anything about the baby, just sending Carmen a know it all-congratulation smile. Carmen picks up on my intentions and returns with a smile that tells me thousand words.
