Family Sunday
“Don’t fuck with me. You found the purple hibiscus?”
“I found the purple hibiscus,” James beamed.
Bette lunged at James and hugged him tightly. Bette spent the next two days getting the hibiscus, planting the hibiscus and having Shane, Alice and Dana find the perfect flowers for Tina. She filled every single vase they owned.
The house was beautiful and Bette was excited and nervous and anxious for Tina to see it all. Tina had been distracted. She was working extremely hard and Bette hoped the flowers and the hibiscus would bring her a little joy.
Bette remembered Tina didn’t get home until late. And she was still distracted the next morning and didn’t notice Bette’s efforts. It broke Bette’s heart a little because it wasn’t the first time Tina hadn’t noticed when Bette did something special for her. But then Bette remembered how Tina’s soul apologized profusely. Then Tina apologized very creatively in bed later that night.
Bette smiled. She missed the way their souls used to communicate. She missed the way Tina used to touch her. She missed the way she felt in Tina’s arms. She missed being able to truly breathe. Bette wondered if they could ever get it back because she wanted it back. She wanted Tina back.
“That’s exactly what I want,” Bette said out loud.
“What, Baby Girl?”
“Huh?”
Kit gave Bette a knowing look. Bette looked at the hibiscus and nodded.
“Lexie has been hinting around about wanting to start a garden. But it’s a lot of work and I know who will be doing most of the work,” Adam laughed.
Lexie playfully hit Adam’s arm.
“Ow.”
“It is a lot of work,” Bette said.
“See!” Adam said.
Lexie shook her head and rolled her eyes.
“Lexie, you just have to give Adam the right motivation,” Tina said.
Everyone turned towards the patio door where Tina was standing, holding a bottle of wine. Alice had already made her way to the group. Tina locked eyes with Bette. Instant butterflies. Bette licked her lips. Tina bit hers and walked slowly to join them.
“Motivation, huh? Is that how you got Bette to start this garden, Tina?”
“Yes, it is.”
Tina giggled shyly.
“Is that true, Bette?” Lexie asked.
“She was very…motivational.”

Great chapter!
Bette and AJ and together with Tina, he is so smart and adorable! Very clever from him to let them join him in the pool.
Bette is ready to try to rebuild their relationship and Tina comes with that line, “Things that will most likely break your heart…some more.”. But they have to make a clean start and this is necessary to put everything out and then away to never come back.
I’m sad the end is coming but also looking forward to the next chapter.
Thank you so much! I’ll be tackling a GenQ storyline when I’m done with this one. This my first attempt at fanfic and it has been such a privilege writing this story. When it’s all done, I’ll go back and read it from start to finish to see what I could’ve done better.
Bette is ready to rebuild but she’s also nervous. She portrays alpha but we know she’s fragile. So I’m excited to see how Tina navigates her fragility and how Bette hopefully starts to forgive her. But I don’t know. We shall see.
Next chapter is going to be a doozy for sure!
AJ is my absolute favorite. I kinda wish I wrote him as an orphan or something. I love the way Bette and AJ interact.
You are a great writer, your writing style is really good, don’t think you have to change anything. I especially love how you write their inner thoughts. The story flows and keeps you wanting more.
I adore AJ, maybe you can add him in your new story. Bette doing something for a orphan house, they meet and Bette and him bond immediately and Bette wants to adopt him, giving him the warm and loving home he deserves. I am adopted and it would be so great to read something like that. But whatever you’re new story will be about, i will certainly read it!
Geez they finally talk and so intense….
