    Epilogue — Season of Love

Looking around the room now, as she continued to rest, Bette swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat, and blinked back tears that threatened to fall. ”No, I’m not kidding!” Bette protested lightly, as she took another sip of tea. ”I remember seeing that rule in a city code I was skimming through when I was down in the New York public library down by Bryant Park with Angie sometime last year. We’d arrived early for a reading by some children’s book author, and had wandered into the part of the hall that held books about the city’s history while we’d waited.”

”You never mentioned that to me before, baby,” Tina answered softly, leaning back against the headboard, and then drawing her arm over Bette, as the brunette leaned into her frame, and rested her head on the warm space between Tina’s neck and shoulder. Tina stroked Bette’s arms and kissed her. Their friends observed the unconscious intimate gestures of the couple, and kept silent for a second.

Alice broke the silence, as she swallowed some juice to tamp down rising emotions.

She’d shed enough tears over what had happened. In fact, she’d bawled like a baby when she’d first visited Bette at the hospital, heartbroken about seeing her friend hooked to all kinds of tubes and beeping machines. Bette, who’d always been so strong and seemingly indestructible, now lying helpless, out with a coma. It was a sight she’d never seen coming.

Nothing, not even Tina’s shushing sounds, and assurances that Bette came out of the horrendous crash in much better shape than everyone had feared, actually, could stanch the flow of tears Alice had let loose as she stood at the foot of Bette’s bed, double-over.

In the six weeks since the incident, their friends had each visited with Bette and Tina a few times, scheduling visits to ensure one or two of them would be around always to stay over at the couple’s place to help out during most of the days over that period.

Alice had been the most affected amongst the friends, having just lost her childhood best friend to an unexplained aneurism a few months prior. Thus, among all the LA-based friends, she’d visited the couple the most, insistent with Tina that the blonde resume some of her work duties after a few weeks as well as guilt-tripping her to fly out to Charlotte to be with her mom on most weekends. Alice had also been pushy with Bette during the brunette’s physical therapy, earning rueful grins from the therapist and frowns and scowls from Bette.

      • You’ve always left me supportive comments, possibly from the first couple of chapters of “Let It Happen”, and I want to say “thank you,” too. I hope you enjoyed the journey. any suggestions to include in the arc of the next story? You’ve seen where they’ve been. Where should they go?

    1. Oh, i’m a little sad that this amazing story is over.

But i’m very happy with the end.

Thank you so much for this incredible story, i hope you will write some more.

      • Thanks, Bibi. I was sad to draw things to a close, too, but this felt like the right moment. Let me know any thoughts of what makes sense for the next leg of this journey, please :-)

    2. Sky, wonderful book! I am so glad Bette and Tina survived the attacks. Can’t wait for the next book so this mystery can be unraveled. Thanks for sharing your talent.

      • Radleks! I remember you loving the chapter that where I drew on Aristophanes, and I thought that I was lucky that people like you who were keeping watch over how their story was progressing were so appreciative of the nuances. Many thanks for staying with me all throughout! Any ideas for what should come next?

      • Thanks Mamadoc! At some point it felt like the story was writing itself, so it felt wonderful to write it out, too, for you, and everyone. Would be happy to hear your thoughts on what’s next.

    3. This was a great story, suspenseful, sexy and downright beautiful in parts. I suspect there’s more to tell with these characters, and I hope you’ll return soon with another story,

Thanks for writing and sharing with us. Take care! :D

      • Soleil, JP. That’s what it feels like when I see a comment from you. I know that there were times that I tried yours, and everyone else’ patience, particularly when the story took unexpected twists and turns. Hope you understood that that’s what the story required, at that point, and I wasn’t using a gimmick or anything. You have any thoughts on the framing of what’s next?

        • The twists and turns are what kept the story gripping, as well as the feeling that Bette and Tina had a persistent but unquantified threat to their safety despite Brom and Mike’s involvement. Even now, they’re not out of the woods.

Bette’s still got the various threads of a mystery on her hands, as well as a few more immediate concerns: Tina’s mother’s health, her own health, wanting to expand her family. What of Paul’s supposed pyramid scheme – how did it happen, and will Tina be able to mend that relationship while dealing with her mother’s illness? How did Scott come to be involved with the script treatments? Who were the unnamed assailants and who did they answer to? Who was ultimately pulling the strings? And more importantly, when will they strike again?

They’ve weathered the storm so far, and have come out of it stronger than ever, with their circle of friends widening yet growing closer, chief among them Jules! I didn’t get to see her do her Black Widow routine and take names. ;-)

I’d love to see more of them all… and I’m not the only one. Thanks again!

    4. Thank you for bringing us on a wonderful journey of Bette and Tina’s world of glamor, business, intrigue and loving moments. I am sad to see this book to end. I hope you will come back with another book in this series as there are so many mysteries to solve.

      • You’re welcome! And THANK YOU for reading both books from beginning to end. Sorry that I brought things to a close at this point, but it felt like the right moment. So …. what do you think? Are there things that you’d be interested in seeing/reading about them?

    5. Bravo, you kept our heroines safe. I love the loyalty of the old friends, Alice, Helena,Shane and the love by the new, Diane, Jules, Mike, Brom. Can Tyler find out who was behind the attacks? Seem like there more material for a sequel. You think? Thanks for taking the time to write and post this great story. I appreciate the effort and spirit that it takes to post. Thank you again.

    6. What a beautiful and heart felt story so sad to see it end. Your writing is truly wonderful and romantic. Thank you and hope to get another story from you soon.

    7. I loved the conclusion to this different kind of Tibette story. It seems that there is another book to be written and by the way were was our little angel Angie. Thank You for the adventure. It was so ironic that you used the same song to end this story of Tibette that ABC Family used at the wedding of another favorite couple Stef and Lena on The Fosters.

    8. Really enjoyed your writing the next chapter is finding out who the mystery guy is? He disappeared after the failed attacks. Question is Bette and Tina still safe? Can Bette go back to old life as a gallerist does Tina get pregnant?
