    Epilogue — Season of Love

Damn if she was going to lose any more friends any time soon, Alice had thought. After she’d heard from Tina a bare-bones account of what had happened to her and Bette, separately, as they’d been in different cities, but simultaneously, Alice had been terrified that losing Bette or Tina or both could have very well happened.

“Well, of course she wouldn’t tell you, TPK!” Alice exclaimed with an exaggerated huff. “Do you honestly think your controlling wife would let you in on an obscure law like that?” She gave Bette a fond grin.

Bette opened her eyes, even though she’d fallen into a blissful spell woven by Tina’s gentle stroking of her arms and hair, and soft kisses on her head, pretending to be stung by Alice’ characterization of her. She protested, “I’m not controlling.”

Tina chortled lightly, as she continued her gentle stroking, “No she’s not. Or she’s less so, anyway.”

Alice smirked, “Okay, not controlling. Possessive.”

This time Tina protested, “Nope. Not possessive either. If anything, she’s a little too free about me, not really staking her claims on me.”

Shane laughed aloud, “Yeah, wrong wife to characterize as “possessive” there, Al.” She grinned back at Tina, who had shot her a look, then a faint frown. Shane must be getting a dig in at me about my momentary frustration with Bette several months ago, Tina thought, remembering the time when she and Shane had been hanging out in “Hit,” the night Kit and Helena had opened an extension to the club that featured a “sand bar.” Tina had been in the midst of a temper tantrum, frustrated that Bette had let Lauren come over and flirt openly with her, while Tina had been in LA.

Bette gave Shane a baleful look, too. Shane blew them both an air kiss.

“No … no… that is an interesting question Shane and Alice are hinting at, Bette,” Helen interceded, jumping in on the teasing exchange.

“Would you let Tina shuck her bra and top, and bare her body like that in public? Perhaps join that adventurous, literature-loving, breast-baring, group?” she asked Bette teasingly.

Bette pulled away from Tina’s embrace slowly, her face asking everyone, How did this get to be about me, all of a sudden?

    Comments

      • You’ve always left me supportive comments, possibly from the first couple of chapters of “Let It Happen”, and I want to say “thank you,” too. I hope you enjoyed the journey. any suggestions to include in the arc of the next story? You’ve seen where they’ve been. Where should they go?

    1. Oh, i’m a little sad that this amazing story is over.

But i’m very happy with the end.

Thank you so much for this incredible story, i hope you will write some more.

      • Thanks, Bibi. I was sad to draw things to a close, too, but this felt like the right moment. Let me know any thoughts of what makes sense for the next leg of this journey, please :-)

    2. Sky, wonderful book! I am so glad Bette and Tina survived the attacks. Can’t wait for the next book so this mystery can be unraveled. Thanks for sharing your talent.

      • Radleks! I remember you loving the chapter that where I drew on Aristophanes, and I thought that I was lucky that people like you who were keeping watch over how their story was progressing were so appreciative of the nuances. Many thanks for staying with me all throughout! Any ideas for what should come next?

      • Thanks Mamadoc! At some point it felt like the story was writing itself, so it felt wonderful to write it out, too, for you, and everyone. Would be happy to hear your thoughts on what’s next.

    3. This was a great story, suspenseful, sexy and downright beautiful in parts. I suspect there’s more to tell with these characters, and I hope you’ll return soon with another story,

Thanks for writing and sharing with us. Take care! :D

      • Soleil, JP. That’s what it feels like when I see a comment from you. I know that there were times that I tried yours, and everyone else’ patience, particularly when the story took unexpected twists and turns. Hope you understood that that’s what the story required, at that point, and I wasn’t using a gimmick or anything. You have any thoughts on the framing of what’s next?

        • The twists and turns are what kept the story gripping, as well as the feeling that Bette and Tina had a persistent but unquantified threat to their safety despite Brom and Mike’s involvement. Even now, they’re not out of the woods.

Bette’s still got the various threads of a mystery on her hands, as well as a few more immediate concerns: Tina’s mother’s health, her own health, wanting to expand her family. What of Paul’s supposed pyramid scheme – how did it happen, and will Tina be able to mend that relationship while dealing with her mother’s illness? How did Scott come to be involved with the script treatments? Who were the unnamed assailants and who did they answer to? Who was ultimately pulling the strings? And more importantly, when will they strike again?

They’ve weathered the storm so far, and have come out of it stronger than ever, with their circle of friends widening yet growing closer, chief among them Jules! I didn’t get to see her do her Black Widow routine and take names. ;-)

I’d love to see more of them all… and I’m not the only one. Thanks again!

    4. Thank you for bringing us on a wonderful journey of Bette and Tina’s world of glamor, business, intrigue and loving moments. I am sad to see this book to end. I hope you will come back with another book in this series as there are so many mysteries to solve.

      • You’re welcome! And THANK YOU for reading both books from beginning to end. Sorry that I brought things to a close at this point, but it felt like the right moment. So …. what do you think? Are there things that you’d be interested in seeing/reading about them?

    5. Bravo, you kept our heroines safe. I love the loyalty of the old friends, Alice, Helena,Shane and the love by the new, Diane, Jules, Mike, Brom. Can Tyler find out who was behind the attacks? Seem like there more material for a sequel. You think? Thanks for taking the time to write and post this great story. I appreciate the effort and spirit that it takes to post. Thank you again.

    6. What a beautiful and heart felt story so sad to see it end. Your writing is truly wonderful and romantic. Thank you and hope to get another story from you soon.

    7. I loved the conclusion to this different kind of Tibette story. It seems that there is another book to be written and by the way were was our little angel Angie. Thank You for the adventure. It was so ironic that you used the same song to end this story of Tibette that ABC Family used at the wedding of another favorite couple Stef and Lena on The Fosters.

    8. Really enjoyed your writing the next chapter is finding out who the mystery guy is? He disappeared after the failed attacks. Question is Bette and Tina still safe? Can Bette go back to old life as a gallerist does Tina get pregnant?
