Epilogue — Season of Love
“What are you girls yammering about?” Bette asked, blowing on the mug of tea to cool it a bit. She’d given Alice a grateful smile.
“I think it’s about the book club that meets and hangs out in various places around New York. I heard they were out in Central Park today. People in the office were talking about it earlier this week. Apparently, that group staged a similar thing in the terrace of a “gay-friendly” hotel, downtown,” Tina explained with a rueful grin. “Am I right?” she asked Shane and Alice.
“Uh, huh! And fatty here could not tear her eyes away from them. We were walking along on a nice clip across the park, and I swear we would have been a good thirty or forty minutes earlier, TPK, had we not slowed to a snail’s pace, as this one here began chatting a couple of them up as we walked past,” Alice said, in a mock-disgusted tone, nudging Shane’s arm playfully with her elbow, as she walked around her.
“So what’s the big deal about a book club meeting to read in the park?” Helena asked, confusedly. She accepted her cup of cappuccino from Alice with a smile.
Alice answered quickly ahead of Shane, who had opened her mouth to respond. Holding the glass of orange juice that she’d poured for herself to her lips, “Well, not your normal book club. Instead, picture half-naked hot, sexy, nubile women, lying face-down on the grass, breasts hanging over the books they’re reading. Spring in the air, flowers blooming, birds chirping in the tree branches overhead. Smacks of ancient Greece and everything.”
“Wow, naked in public! Reading!” Helena laughed out loud, licking the foam of the cappuccino that Shane and Alice had tried to fix for her, and taking a sip. Nothing like Bette’s, but they’d tried. She glanced at Bette fondly as she brought the cup to her lips again, and gingerly resumed sitting on the side of the bed next to Bette.
She thought, I almost lost you, dear friend. We all almost did.
She was blinking back tears as Bette answered, “Well there is a law in New York that permits women to walk around without any bras or tops or anything. Just the way a man could.” She sipped her tea, and then opened her mouth to allow Tina to slip a strawberry in her mouth.

Well thankyou for this story, I love your writting, so please please start with the next story. Thx again for a happy ending.
You’ve always left me supportive comments, possibly from the first couple of chapters of “Let It Happen”, and I want to say “thank you,” too. I hope you enjoyed the journey. any suggestions to include in the arc of the next story? You’ve seen where they’ve been. Where should they go?
Oh, i’m a little sad that this amazing story is over.
But i’m very happy with the end.
Thank you so much for this incredible story, i hope you will write some more.
Thanks, Bibi. I was sad to draw things to a close, too, but this felt like the right moment. Let me know any thoughts of what makes sense for the next leg of this journey, please :-)
Sky, wonderful book! I am so glad Bette and Tina survived the attacks. Can’t wait for the next book so this mystery can be unraveled. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Radleks! I remember you loving the chapter that where I drew on Aristophanes, and I thought that I was lucky that people like you who were keeping watch over how their story was progressing were so appreciative of the nuances. Many thanks for staying with me all throughout! Any ideas for what should come next?
Absolutely wonderful story from start to end. I, too, look forward to your next installment.
Thanks Mamadoc! At some point it felt like the story was writing itself, so it felt wonderful to write it out, too, for you, and everyone. Would be happy to hear your thoughts on what’s next.
This was a great story, suspenseful, sexy and downright beautiful in parts. I suspect there’s more to tell with these characters, and I hope you’ll return soon with another story,
Thanks for writing and sharing with us. Take care! :D
Soleil, JP. That’s what it feels like when I see a comment from you. I know that there were times that I tried yours, and everyone else’ patience, particularly when the story took unexpected twists and turns. Hope you understood that that’s what the story required, at that point, and I wasn’t using a gimmick or anything. You have any thoughts on the framing of what’s next?
The twists and turns are what kept the story gripping, as well as the feeling that Bette and Tina had a persistent but unquantified threat to their safety despite Brom and Mike’s involvement. Even now, they’re not out of the woods.
Bette’s still got the various threads of a mystery on her hands, as well as a few more immediate concerns: Tina’s mother’s health, her own health, wanting to expand her family. What of Paul’s supposed pyramid scheme – how did it happen, and will Tina be able to mend that relationship while dealing with her mother’s illness? How did Scott come to be involved with the script treatments? Who were the unnamed assailants and who did they answer to? Who was ultimately pulling the strings? And more importantly, when will they strike again?
They’ve weathered the storm so far, and have come out of it stronger than ever, with their circle of friends widening yet growing closer, chief among them Jules! I didn’t get to see her do her Black Widow routine and take names. ;-)
I’d love to see more of them all… and I’m not the only one. Thanks again!
Thank you for bringing us on a wonderful journey of Bette and Tina’s world of glamor, business, intrigue and loving moments. I am sad to see this book to end. I hope you will come back with another book in this series as there are so many mysteries to solve.
You’re welcome! And THANK YOU for reading both books from beginning to end. Sorry that I brought things to a close at this point, but it felt like the right moment. So …. what do you think? Are there things that you’d be interested in seeing/reading about them?
YES!! Absolutely. Get started already.
Bravo, you kept our heroines safe. I love the loyalty of the old friends, Alice, Helena,Shane and the love by the new, Diane, Jules, Mike, Brom. Can Tyler find out who was behind the attacks? Seem like there more material for a sequel. You think? Thanks for taking the time to write and post this great story. I appreciate the effort and spirit that it takes to post. Thank you again.
Thank you for this wonderful story and the happy end.PPS
Thanks so much for the ride. It was a wonderful story. Hope to see you post another story soon.
What a beautiful and heart felt story so sad to see it end. Your writing is truly wonderful and romantic. Thank you and hope to get another story from you soon.
I loved the conclusion to this different kind of Tibette story. It seems that there is another book to be written and by the way were was our little angel Angie. Thank You for the adventure. It was so ironic that you used the same song to end this story of Tibette that ABC Family used at the wedding of another favorite couple Stef and Lena on The Fosters.
Really enjoyed your writing the next chapter is finding out who the mystery guy is? He disappeared after the failed attacks. Question is Bette and Tina still safe? Can Bette go back to old life as a gallerist does Tina get pregnant?
That was beautiful and awesome, love it
