City Of Angels Chapter 5: Reflections on a tortured soul.

    “I’m sorry…I didn’t mean to…”

“It’s ok.” Camilla said. She wiped the tear away before it threatened to spill over.

“There’s not a day goes by where I don’t think about my mom.”

Dana nodded as she walked over to a near by window and stared out into the pitch black night. She began to think about her own parents. She wondered how they were holding up after the event that they had to witness. She thought about all the wonderful times that she, her parent’s and her younger brother had shared in the past. Sadness crept up on her realizing that her family would never be the same again, sure she knew that they would move on, but all the things that she promised to her parents and younger sibling would never come true.

“Why did you come back?” Camilla asked. She wasn’t ungrateful that Dana decided to come back and visit her but the curiosity was killing her. It was un-natural for the dead to contact the living, especially during a situation like this.

Dana turned around to see Camilla looking up at her with sadness in her eyes. She walked over to the small sitting area where Camilla was sitting and joined her. She sat across from the young painter.

“You seem to know what’s going on.”

Camilla shook her head. “I really don’t know Dana. Not really.”

“Then why did you visit my grave?” Dana asked again.

“Because…” Camilla just sighed as she leaned into the plush chair she was sitting on.

“I had to. I wanted the nightmares to stop.”

“You must have some Idea what’s going on…I…I need answers Camilla…" Dana let out a heavy sigh.

    "I can’t go on…not like this.”

The heavy weight on Dana’s soul continued to drag her down further into the abyss. Little by little, with every life she takes, she fears that her sanity is slipping through her fingers. She is becoming something much worse than the people who had murdered her
