“I think she wanted to provoke me to loose my temper. I don’t know why. We don’t have much contact these days and only when I’m getting Angie we see each other. We’re very polite, but… I can’t shake an eerie feeling.” Bette was not amused. “I don’t know her anymore.”

“We have to wait and see. Want me to come with you Sunday ?” Helena asked.

“Let’s talk about that later, okay ?” Bette wasn’t in the mood to think about Tina’s behavior any longer, but Helena was slightly disturbed by her girlfriends answer.

She let go of Bette, but kept her tone light, “Okay.”

“Helena ?”

“Yes ?”

“I love you and we’ll take about it, I promise. I just have to think about it and I don’t want to do it right now.” Bette smiled at her lover.

“As I said, it’s okay.” Helena smiled back.

“No fooling me here, love. But thanks for humouring me.” Bette kissed her on the nose. “And now let’s see what the maniacs are up to.”

She grabbed Helena’s hand and both of them left the study.

After greeting April, Shane had taken a seat beside her, because Jenny and Max hadn’t left. The four of them spoke about Blue, who was having a ball with all the attention he was getting. Social as he was he finally warmed up to Max and was currently residing beside him.

“Look at him…” Jenny said. “He thinks he is the King of the Universe.”

All the humans laughed.

“Mabe that was the reason for that part of his name. Could be he was like that as a kitten and it just stuck.” April remarked. “They are really very loveable cats.”

“I agrree.” Shane said. “He was so smitten with Bette right from the start, it seemd not natural.”

“What’s not natural ?” Alice asked from the doorway, now finally seeing April Sullivan for the first time.

“We’re talking about Mr. Porter here.” Jenny elaborated.

Alice got near the group and stretched out her hand to Dr. Sullivan.

“Hi, I’m Alice Pieszecki and you must be Dr. Sullivan. Nice to meet you.” Inwardly she thought. Wow, what a good looking woman. Shane sure knows how to pick them.
