Bitter Endings, Sweet Beginnings: Part Five

“Alice,” Gabby pronounced the name with her patented smirk, her sudden
arrival jerking the blonde out of the mesmerized state that Leather
Pants Girl’s dancing had put her into.

“Gabby,” squeaked Alice in response, her eyes going wide. “Why are you here?”

“DJ Splendiferous Sera, what else?” replied Gabby, arching an eyebrow.
She looked to the dance floor where Leather Pants Girl was continuing
to dance with herself and not the flock of twenty or so women swarming
around her, then smirked again before turning back to Alice. “And
watching one ***** of a dance show being displayed.”

“Oh,” said Alice, breathing a sigh of relief.

Noticing this with smug satisfaction, Gabby reached backwards to steal
a chair from a nearby table and dragged it over to Alice. Sitting down
smoothly, keeping her gaze locked with Alice’s the entire time, Gabby
reached out to tuck a stray lock of hair behind the blonde’s ear.
Smiling when the other woman instinctively leaned into her touch. “You
look good,” she said in simple compliment, knowing that the writer
didn’t require anything more than that. Her eyes were eyes dark and
filled with promise then she said in that commanding tone which always
served to captivate Alice completely, “Go on a date with me.”

“I don’t know, Gabby,” said Alice hesitantly, her nerves more than
apparent along with the reality that although she was clearly fighting
the urge she definitely did want to agree with the screenwriter’s
request. “I think maybe the last time should be the final punch line in
the run on joke that our little on and off romance has turned into over
    the years.”

Chuckling at this remark, Gabby’s fingers traced a delicate path over
the curve of Alice’s lips and she moved in for the kill, putting their
faces a breath apart as she murmured, “It’s just a date, Alice. What
harm can it do?” Her eyes were dark and compelling as she drawled,
“Don’t you want to hear that laugh track play one last time? And you
know that every show, even the bad sitcoms, need to have a spectacular
    series finale.”

“Gabby,” Alice breathed her name more than said it, looking to be on
the verge of agreeing with that and possibly anything else the
screenwriter could bring up at that moment.

“I’m afraid that Alice has found herself quite taken,” Helena’s voice,
harsh and uncharacteristically brittle, broke the spell that Gabby had
put Alice under and both women turned to the heiress who was staring at
    brunette with a cold glare.
