Lexi: what you two have is special… and I know you both know it…
Pulling up to her driveway…
Bette: I don’t think I was ever on this side of the house
Lexi: not to many know about this entrance… Patrick can also use it… it leads to the main house too…
As the car comes to a stop…
Bette: wow… nice beach house…
Lexi: I do love the water late at night or very early in the morning… so are you ready…
Bette: I have been waiting my whole life for this moment… please lead the way…
From the outside no one would ever guess that there was a studio there… it was down a flight of stares and into a room close to the size of the CAC… Bette could see a small section that she assumed was Patty’s area… and on another side she could tell that’s where Patrick worked… but then she saw where Lexi was set up…
Lexi: its very deceiving down here… no one knows it here… we had this built last summer…
Bette: last summer…
Lexi: yes we were planning our move back to the States… and Patrick was very content to move here to LA… so he designed this and hired the builders… and they did one hell of a job… would you believe we never laid our eyes on the place until we actually moved here… they would send us pictures and movies… but that was it…
Bette: well they did a fabulous job…
Lexi: let me turn on more lights and we can start… would you like a drink or something… we can stop and eat at any time… you just say the word…
Bette: Mom… I can eat any time… right now I want to feed my eyes…
Lexi: all right them… let’s start at the beginning…
Lexi showed Bette her early paintings… some of which Bette also remembered… but just about a hand full… Bette was amazed, the art work in this studio was unbelievable… and for the next 2 hours they both walked around Lexi would talk about most of them, but Bette didn’t need a lot of explanations… she knew the back story on most of the paintings… when they reached the end they both were spent… Bette needed to sit and she also needed something to eat and drink… and Lexi was way ahead of her… Anne was walking in with a tray…
