Wednesday Night at the Porter house… everyone was just finishing dinner… and they were all just making small talk… WHEN…

Bette:  why don’t we all just leave this and relax in the Living room…

Tina:  yes and we can have more coffee or after dinner drinks…

So they all agreed… Bette looked at Tina and Tina kept telling her with her eyes to start…

James:  if I can have everyone’s attention… first of all I would like to thank Bette and Tina for always including me in the Wednesday night family dinner…

Tina:  James that’s because we do consider you a part of our family…

James:  and I really can’t thank you all enough…

Frank looks at James… like he is offering encouragement…

James:  well there is something I would love to share with you all… but first things first… 

He gets down on one knee in front of Lisa… everyone in the room just smiles and watches… James looked so nervous…

James:  Lisa…  I never knew what love was until that first time I saw you in Bette’s office… I think Cupid shot all of his arrows into me… because from that day forward I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you… I had a whole speech written, but where it is now, I don’t know, Lisa I love you so much, I want to have children with you, I want to have grand children with you, I want the world with you… there is nothing I wouldn’t do for you… what I’m trying to say is… WILL YOU Marry ME…

Lisa had tears poring from her eyes… hell everyone was crying…

Lisa: James… I also love you… and I want children and grand children with you… and YES… I want to Marry you… OMG… YES YES YES…

Everyone jumps up as Lisa jumps into James’s arms… all congratulating them… hugging and kissing all around…

Everyone finally calms down and is sitting back down…

Frank:  see James I told you this would be a good time to ask her…

Linda:  you knew… and you didn’t tell me…

Frank:  you can’t keep a secret… besides us men have to stick together…

James:  sorry “mom”…

Linda:  I like that… Frank I’ll get you later…

Bette:  well that’s going to be hard to top tonight… but…

Frank:  but what…

Tina:  well daddy there is another little news flash for tonight…

Bette:  you’re going to be a grandpa again…

Frank jumps up and grabs Bette into his arms…

Frank:  this time you’re carrying my grand baby… as he pulls Tina into his arms… even though you could have them this close… tell me…

Linda:  who says I can’t keep a secret…

Frank:  you knew and you didn’t tell me…

Bette:  Dad we wanted to tell you and yes I am carrying this baby…

Again they all hug and kiss each other…

Bette:  James we are sorry to spoil your night…

James:  what are you kidding… I am loving this… I did have a feeling that something was up… hell, I can’t wait for us to tell everyone when Lisa and I are expecting…

Lisa:  well I can wait… I love Tessa and I know I’ll love the new baby, but I think I need a few more years before we get into mommy and daddy mode…

Linda:  you take your time…

Frank:  anyone else have anything to share…

Tessa starts “gibbering”…

Tina:  well said baby girl… well said…
