Harmony: “I have no doubt.”
He walked away.
Bette: “What was that about?”
Harmony: “What? That? Nothing.”
Bette looked at her skeptically as they began to dance again. They held each other close as they swayed to the slow music. Harmony was slightly taller then Bette. Bette rested her head on Harmony’s shoulder. Harmony closed her eyes and smelled her hair. They danced happily.
When they sat down to rest Jackie came over.
Jackie: “Well I guess you did it again Scott.”
Harmony: “Jackie. Bette Porter this is my boss, Jacquelyn Rice.”
Bette: “Nice to meet you.”
Jackie looked like she was about to turn green. She stood there for a few seconds shaking Bette’s hand before she let go.
Jackie: “Oh ahhhh pleased to meet you too.”
Harmony had an evil grin on her face.
Harmony: “Having fun Jackie?”
Jackie: “Ahh, yes. It’s a fine party. I have to go. See you Monday.”
Harmony laughed hysterically as soon as Jackie walked away.
Bette: “What was that about?”
Harmony looked down.
Harmony: “I gotta tell you something”
Bette looked worried
Harmony: “You being here is sort of a big, well for me at least.”
Bette: “Come again?”
Harmony: “You have a reputation in the lesbian corporate society.”
Bette: “Reputation?”
Harmony: “Yeah. You have a nickname.”
Bette: “Nickname?”
Harmony: “Bette ‘hot stuff’ Porter.”
Bette: “what?”
Harmony: “Yup. I didn’t come up with it. I’m just familiar.”
Bette wasn’t seeing the joke.
Bette: “is that why you asked me out?”
Harmony: “No. Its not. I didn’t even know who you were till we started talking and you introduced yourself. I promise. You should be flattered really. You’re a hot commodity on the relationship market. II just thought you should know. That’s why Jackie was stunned she’s wanted you for years.”
Bette sat and thought about it for a few seconds. She was flattered. She had no idea she was so sought after. Well she had some idea, but not to this extent. She felt like a celebrity. As Bette was going to tell Harmony it was ok, Roxanna walked up.
Roxanne: “there you are! We have a problem.”
Harmony: “What?”
Roxanne: “Just come with me.”
Harmony: “Ok but wait. Roxanna meet Bette Porter. Bette this is my best friend Roxanne”
Roxanne: “I’m sorry. Nice to meet you. We really need to go Harm.”
Harmony: “Ok but”
Bette: “Go. We’ll talk when you get back.”
Bette sat at the table and thought. She hadn’t felt so wanted in a long time. It felt kinda good to have people seem to care. She hadn’t felt that in a while with Tina. 45 minutes went by and still no Harmony. Bette was beginning to get annoyed. Then a lady with a beard came over.
Lady: “You Bette Porter?”
Bette: “yes.”
Lady: “Ms. Scott asks that you please follow me.”
Bette rose and followed the portly woman through the kitchen, up a narrow stairway and out a door. Bette was getting nervous until she saw Harmony standing alone on the beautiful porch deck. Bette smiled and walked over.
Bette: “What is this?”
Harmony: “Just a little something me and my family used to do. Come here.”
Harmony walked to the ledge of the roof and pulled Bette in front of her wrapping her arms around her waste.
Harmony: “Ok look up. It should be here in 32….1″
Right then a shooting star shot across the sky.
Harmony: “Quick make a wish.”
Bette closed her eyes and made a wish. She opened them up and turned her head to look at Harmony. Their eyes locked and harmony placed a single soft kiss on Bette’s lips.
Harmony: “What’d you wish for?”
Bette: “it just came true.”
Bette turned around and kissed Harmony passionately. It was a thank you kiss. She was thanking her for making her feel special, allowing her to have fun, treating her so kindly, making her priority though she was so busy, telling her the truth, giving her her confidence back, simply doing all the things for her Tina was not.

I will say again I love the story and I really do want to see B&T together again. But right now Bette is extremely HAPPY and I love that. Harmony has given her that old Porter confidence back and put a bit of starch in her step. That is great for Bette. Sorry Tina, you may have waited too late to be jealous. Let Bette be happy. Ooooh My God…That was just brillant..Chapter 3 and already im lovin it..lol..Well it seems Tina got what she wanted ..and now….Well Tina be careful what you wish for babe!!!Anyone that can make “The Hot One” Feel good again is very welcome…and if she`s Tall, Hot, and sexy well then we`ll all feel good…lol…keep it comin!

So i just read the first three chapters and i hope you continue with this story. It is good to see Bette get her swagger back. And how dare Tina act all jealous now whe some hot lady is showinh and interest in Bette. Tina had to know that Bette wouldn’t just sit around forever while Tina got her groove on w/ men. Post soon.
I love to see Bette being happy. But now I kind of think she and Tina should go back together finally. The HS thing is too splendid and surreal. It’ll burn out soon. Of course, it’s a great journey for Bette to find her alphaness back.

Everyone comes into our lives for a reason. Whether it is for 30 seconds, 30 minutes, or 30 years…there is always a reason. Maybe Harmony is just in Bette’s life to remind her of who she is…maybe she is here for longer. I will wait along with everyone else to find out how long Harmony’s visit into Bette’s life will last. Thanks!!

well, well, well, it seems that Bette is less masculine and more of a femine in this story. i like it, i like it a lot. great story once again you entertained me, and i also am looking foward to a MKbette sequal, till then ta ta!

Wow!!! This is great. Bette Porter is back!!! This is good, especially after Tina’s treatment has been making her doubt herself. And finding out about her nickname “Hot Stuff” has got to be a tremendous ego boost. Keep on posting… I can hardly wait for your next chapter.
