    “You are going to pickle in that self-loathing homophobia of yours,” Alice said bluntly.

     

    “That’s great Dana,” Tina said, cutting off Alice. She knew her friends well, and Dana did not need whatever comment was about to come out of Alice’s mouth. “You know you should come over to the house tomorrow. We’re thinking about bar-b-queing- something low key. We haven’t hung out in forever.”

     

    “Yeah, I am so sorry about that,” Dana said frowning at the thought that she had been neglecting her friends. “But since we had that tournament in January, I couldn’t take any Jan term courses. So that means I’m taking four courses this semester instead of my normal two in the spring. And that’s on top of tennis, and meetings and family stuff. It has just been crazy. I’ll try to make it tomorrow, but since we have an away match this week I have to take my econ midterm on Monday.”

     

    “Well, a break for a few hours won’t kill you,” Tina said.

     

    “I’ll try,” the athlete promised with a small smile, watching Alice out of the corner of her eye.

     

    Something was up with her best friend and although it seemed as though Alice was trying to hide it, for Dana it couldn’t be more clear if Alice was holding a sign that read ‘pissed off.’  Throughout her entire conversation with Tina, Alice had rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath.

     

    If it were anyone else, Dana probably would have ignored it—it wasn’t any of her business. But this was Alice.

     

    “What the hell is your problem today,” Dana questioned abruptly?

     

    “Nothing,” Alice replied dismissively

     

    “Obviously, it’s something.”

     

    “You don’t want to hear it.”

     

    “Don’t tell me what I want. I hate when people do that.”

     

    “Could have fooled me.”

     

    “Alice just spit out whatever the hell you want to say,” Dana finally demanded, frustrated.

     

    Tina, who had just been looking from one friend to the other during this time, felt like she was watching one of Dana’s matches. She was about to cut in once again before someone said something they would regret but was a second too late.

     

    “You are going to pickle in that self-loathing homophobia of yours,” Alice said bluntly.

    1. Great update, anionayo!! I understand Alice’s frustration, but, she could have said it in a less confrontational manner. I am so glad she went after Dana and that Dana heard her out. The whole “hotdog stand” conversation was so funny. I think Dana knows that Alice has her best interests at heart. You continue to write Dana’s journey in a very real way. Thanks!!

    3. D falling off the bed was pretty funny. Her interaction with the guard Jim was very genuine. I also like A’s P.A. Julie. That’s an asset to A. Looking forward to the interview. uhhuh is right, please don’t cancel it. I also like to point out that I don’t recall A & D were both reporters concurrently in different fanfics like yours and uhhuh’s “Danish: Breathless.” Therefore, this is a very exciting time. Thank you very much, chillipepper.

    6. Hey Anionayo :D I have finally caught up with your story and can i just i LOVE it so much. As many ppl have sed before me u reli do write the girls almost perfectly wait no perfectly u really do it amazes me how well u write them :) I love the journey ur taking the girls thru as well very real. And as for this last update boy both Al and Dana were snappy today, Al didnt need to be like tht but it only bcus she cares. I guess i second everything other ppl have sed so i wont write wat u have already read haha :) Thnks for a fab story and cant wait for more PPS :) xxx P.S Sorry agen for missing Danish Day :(

    7. HelllOOoo A! Wow. I really wish that Dana didnt have to ‘hide’ but i guess i can understand, at least Al is there for her even though she doesnt agree. So its going to be team H&D? LoL I can only imagine what those two will be like together….hopefully Dana will get some stuff sorted out in her head and figure out how and when she will follow her true self. Thank You for another outstanding update!
