“You should let her finish Al.”

            “Yeah but seriously Dane we all know that’s why we’re here.”

            “Just let her talk.” The tensions begin to rise.

            “Ok, ok… well Al you’re right sort of.”  The girls look at Bette in amazement. “Ok I know what you’re thinking guys, but we all know I love Tina.” Just as she begins to explain there is another knock on the door. “Sorry that’s Kit.” Bette gets up to let her in. The girls stand to greet her.

            “So what’s this pow wow about Baby Sis?”

            “I was just getting to that. Well… I have been as you know doing a lot of soul searching these past months. I want to first apologize for having you guys be in the cross fire of whatever fucked up shit Tina and I have gone through. Thank you guys for even showing up here. I know I am not deserving.”

            “Bette we love you.” Shane’s deep voice fills the air, “of course we’d be here.”

            “Thanks Shane. I know our break hasn’t been easy on any of us. I love Tina I’ve always loved her. I know what I did was fucked up. I was a fucking coward.” Bette allows her tears to fall earning an arm around her shoulders from Dana. “But I am going to do everything I can to make her: one- trust me again, two- see that I am a changed woman and three- that we can make it work  if we do it together.”

            “So where do we come in?” Alice asks

            “Well I want to throw Tina a surprise baby shower tomorrow night.”

            “Tomorrow? Are you fucking out your mind?” Alice flails her arms about. “That’s not enough time Bette.”

            “C’mon Al. We can do it if we all do it together.”

            “Why a baby shower?” Kit inquires.

            “Because we are family and we should celebrate a new addition just us. Two I’m hoping that even if Tina and I don’t end up together that she will still allow me to be part of the baby’s life.”

            “Bette…” Dana hesitates, “what if she doesn’t like the idea of a surprise?”
