“You’ve reached Bette Porter I am currently unavailable but please leave a message after the tone and I’ll get back to you.”
“Hey Bette… it’s me… Tina. Can you call me? Thanks.” She hangs the phone up and exhales.
Bette steps out of the shower reinvigorated. She walks into the closet and picks out a black tank top and jeans. She runs a towel through her hair and notices a flashing on her cell phone. She picks it up to listen to her voicemail. She immediately returns the call.
“Tina Kennard.”
“Hey Tina it’s Bette.” Her voice meets silence. “Tina? Are you there?” She glances at the phone to see if she’s been disconnected.
“Uh yeah hi sorry. I’m here.”
“Oh ok, thought we got cut off. I got your message. Are you ok?”
“ Um yeah I’m fine. I just… I was just wondering if I could maybe stop by and talk to you. Tonight I mean. Or maybe we could meet up?”
“I’m really sorry Tina but I can’t meet up tonight… I… I have something I need to take care of.”
“Oh,” Tina makes no attempt to hide her disappointment. ‘Shit.’ Bette thinks.
“How about tomorrow night?” She adds before the silence engulfs both of them.
“Um yeah that should work. I’ll.. I’ll see you tomorrow then around 7?” Bette feels relief at Tina’s willingness to compromise.
“That’s perfect. Alright well I’ll see you then.”
“Okay see you at 7.” Bette and Tina hang up their phones each with a thousand thoughts rushing their minds.
The hour pass quickly as Bette prepared for her friends to arrive, if she was going to pull this off she would need their full support. She stands in the kitchen pulling out several glasses for wine, she hears a knock at the door and walks towards it. She turns the knob to face Alice, Shane, and Dana, she ushers them in.
“So what’s this about Bette?” Alice asks falling on to the couch.
“Well I was hoping you guys would help me….”
“Win Tina back?” Alice finishes Bette’s sentence. The girls simply look at Alice in annoyance.

It’s ok Tina, enjoy the shower, I’m sure Bette is willing to let you stay as long as you want. I think the bracelet will really get her emotions going too! PPS
Hope Tina stays for this and enjoys herself. they can still talk when everyone leaves if Tina is not too tired after the shower. If she will just meet Bette halfway they can work this out and be a family again. Thanks for posting. PPS
I love when the girls actually conversing with each other. I hope that the initial disappointment that Tina feels will change quickly.
I hope Tina enjoys the baby shower, inspite of the fact that Bette kinda jumped the gun a little I think. Please post soon, can’t wait to see how this all works out.
