American Werewolves in London: Gothic Romances

“What?” Bette whispered with a smile.

“You nearly broke my fingers just now…if such a thing were possible.” Helena kissed her way up Bette’s thighs and belly and chest, before laying fully on top of her and resting.

    A Month Earlier…

The wind whistled through the sparse tree line, adding to the apprehension that grew continuously with each passing moment. Bette and Helena stood on a low rising hill over the place where Devon—Tina’s friend and one of the local vampire clan heads—was supposed to meet them.

“I don’t like this.” Bette stopped Helena, holding her elbow gently.  The stakes in her pack clinked together as she moved closer. “Are one of those car doors open?”

Helena nodded slowly. “Where are they?”

The car that should have held Devon and his clan, lay empty. Helena and Bette poked inside, looking for evidence of their whereabouts.

“Were they taken?” Even as the question dropped from Bette’s lips, she knew they were surrounded. Three men took Helena in hand, one holding something that looked like a two foot long steel nail to her rib cage.

Red eyes looked Bette carefully up and down, while the others held Helena back, apart from her.

“Don’t you hurt her.” Bette hissed, turning to the vampires. Their claws dug into Helena’s arm, but the brunette didn’t flinch.

“Don’t worry darling. They’re not hurting me.” Her teeth lengthened for just a moment, a warning.  But the ones holding her also lengthened their teeth, and the realization of who held them sunk in.

“Are you Devon?” Bette asked. “Oh fuck, you are him. Why are you doing this?”

“Why should we help you?” Devon’s eyes flashed yellow, his teeth fully elongated. “I don’t even know what you are…Tina tells us to come here, in the middle of nowhere, and you come armed to the teeth!”

“Darling…stay calm…” Helena interrupted Devon, keeping her eye on Bette. Her girlfriend was beginning to shake with anger and…something else. “Bette!” Helena shouted. “Let me go, you don’t know what you’re doing.” She tried to reason with the men holding her, but they soon saw her point of view.

    1. Bette’s transformation into a Jaguar or Puma-like creature is kind of sexy; the eyes that “were death itself” not so much. I thoroughly enjoyed Tina’s musings on the void and nothingness, as well as (it goes without saying) Bette and Helena getting busy.

    2. Hey, have been silent for awhile but have been really enjoying this, so Bette’s a cross between American werewolf and Catpeople..yey Shane/Carm!..hmmm could Al/Dana be hunters?

    3. Oh goody, you’re back with the spooky crazy shit! Maybe I’m dense, but what’s the contradiction between a Bible and a book of torture? Haven’t they been using the Bible as an instrument of torture for millenia? And I would have thought that Bette in her hybrid werewolf/cat/vampire state would have been beyond getting creeped out by anything. Oh well. Just what are Shane and Carmen up to with their silver spike cottage industry? Now please don’t let it be so long between drinks, eh?

    4. See, I think the silver stakes are for upscale gardens, you know, to hold up the upscale beans and tomatoes and what have you. I refuse to think of other more sinister use. I am confused now, I LIKED Willow and Tara and Kennedy…but now they are bad, cos Bette and Helena rock and nobody better hurt them! Can’t you just lose Tina, speaking of torture, lol, for a little while, and have some more lovin with B and H? Are Shane and Carmen human?
