American Werewolves in London: Gothic Romances

“What are you reading?” Helena asked softly. She wore a robe, but seriously considered taking it off.  She resisted the urge.

“African mathematicians and their influence on later Greek cults…” Tina muttered, though Helena heard her clearly. “There is something here to explain to us, somehow, how nothingness works…the reality that we know as vampires.  For us, there is only the void.” Tina closed the book she had been reading with a sharp exhale. “We can’t know this life, only each other, only the feeding, and only the emptiness that begins all of life.”

“So in a way, we know life better than they do…”

“Differently. Not better…certainly not better than Bette.” Tina whispered.  Helena’s hands burned on her shoulders. They stood in the stillness for eons.

“Are you all right?” Helena asked.

“Are any of us?” Tina turned her face against Helena’s palm.

When Helena returned to her room, Bette lay on her side, wide awake.  Helena searched her eyes for fear or doubt or jealousy, but all she found was understanding.

“Did you find what you needed?” Bette waited for the right time to bridge the distance between them. She had grown used to Helena’s wanderings.

Helena smiled and slipped into bed beside her.  Her arms were strong around Bette’s shoulders and she felt the sigh of relief before she captured it with her lips.

“Did you and she…” Bette left the question to hang, wondering suddenly if she cared either way. Helena shook her head silently before brushing her mouth across soft curves.  Her hands rose to cup her lover’s breasts and her tongue flicked across their already aroused tips. She moaned softly, as Bette reached down and lifted her easily up and over her.  Brown eyes gazed intently into her own and Bette tossed aside her robe, revealing Helena’s naked form to the moonlight. “do you want me?” Bette asked softly.

Helena nodded, suddenly speechless, and wove her fingers through dark tresses. Bette’s lips were hungry across her chest, but her hands were hungrier, wanting to be everywhere at once.

Many minutes later, Helena’s mouth was cool against Bette’s heated flesh.  Between her lover’s thighs, she satiated a different kind of thirst. Bette’s hands gripped hers, fingers intertwined.  Her back arched as she came, hard, into Helena’s mouth. She heard a soft chuckle.

    1. Bette’s transformation into a Jaguar or Puma-like creature is kind of sexy; the eyes that “were death itself” not so much. I thoroughly enjoyed Tina’s musings on the void and nothingness, as well as (it goes without saying) Bette and Helena getting busy.

    2. Hey, have been silent for awhile but have been really enjoying this, so Bette’s a cross between American werewolf and Catpeople..yey Shane/Carm!..hmmm could Al/Dana be hunters?

    3. Oh goody, you’re back with the spooky crazy shit! Maybe I’m dense, but what’s the contradiction between a Bible and a book of torture? Haven’t they been using the Bible as an instrument of torture for millenia? And I would have thought that Bette in her hybrid werewolf/cat/vampire state would have been beyond getting creeped out by anything. Oh well. Just what are Shane and Carmen up to with their silver spike cottage industry? Now please don’t let it be so long between drinks, eh?

    4. See, I think the silver stakes are for upscale gardens, you know, to hold up the upscale beans and tomatoes and what have you. I refuse to think of other more sinister use. I am confused now, I LIKED Willow and Tara and Kennedy…but now they are bad, cos Bette and Helena rock and nobody better hurt them! Can’t you just lose Tina, speaking of torture, lol, for a little while, and have some more lovin with B and H? Are Shane and Carmen human?
