Alice has something to tell Dana…
"Okay, well you know how much I love you. And, you know how much Lara loves you…and she does Dane. Lara loves you, and was really mad that no one told her you were sick. She would have flown back here in a second had she known. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that she loves you and misses you. Well, we were both so….empty after you left us…not that we are blaming you or anything for leaving. It’s just that we both buried our pain and tried not to feel. But, then after a while…well, you know me Dane, I can’t stay in one place for too long, otherwise I get antsy. So after awhile, I needed to feel again. And, well…Lara was feeling the same way, and…uh…well…………..you know Dane, I should have listened to you when you told me how wonderful she is, cause you were right…she really is…you know…wonderful."
Alice’s voice trailed off, and she blew out a breath, running her fingers through her hair. ‘Jesus Pieszecki, just say it!’
So, what I am trying to say Dane, is you don’t have to worry about Lara and I. We’re going to be just fine. You just take care of yourself up there. You know, look both ways for planes first, and then pay attention to the color of the cloud before you step out on them…wouldn’t want you fallin through or anything. I mean, that wouldn’t be very….I love Lara!!!" The words tumbled out before Alice could stop them. ‘Shit shit shit!!!’
"Okay, well that didn’t come out exactly how I planned, but now that it’s out there…well, I hope that is okay with you Dane. I love her, and I think she loves me, and well…I just wanted you to know that we are gonna take care of each other so you can, you know…go into the light now…walk through the pearly gates…hang with Katherine Hepburn."
"And Dane? Don’t worry, we will both always love you…and yeah, okay…….we’ll keep an eye on Howey for you too."
Alice stopped talking, and without signing off the air, turned off her mic. She didn’t need to sign off. Dana knew she had said all she needed to say. Waving good-bye to her Producer and tech guy, she slowly made her way out to the parking lot, wanting only to get to Lara. She needed to feel the comforting arms of the gorgeous and loving redhead. Stepping outside, she shaded her eyes from the bright sun, and stopped for a second when she saw a group of people standing next to her car. For a moment she hesitated, but then as her eyes adjusted, she couldn’t help the smile that spread across her face.
There standing next to her car were the people who loved her, and who had loved Dana….Shane and Carmen (who were shyly holding hands), Jenny, Max, Kit and Angus, Helena standing next to Peggy (who had her arm around her daughter’s shoulders), Lenore, Bette and Tina (Bette was holding Angelica with one arm, and had the other wrapped around Tina’s shoulders. Tina had both arms wrapped protectively around Bette’s waist.) And, right in the middle, with the sun shimmering off her red hair, was Lara…smiling, holding her arms out in front of her, waiting for Alice to walk into them.
"Hey guys," Alice said, as she gave Lara a hug that was just a little tighter than most. "What are you doing here?"
There was silence for a moment, then Bette spoke up. "Well, we just had the pool cleaned and filled, so we thought we would all go swimming at OUR house." She emphasized the word our, smiling down at Tina. "What do you think? Got your suit with you?"
Her eyes never leaving Lara’s, Alice just smile.
"Who needs a suit?"

Perfect….I don’t comment much on your stories Seahurst…even though I’ve read all of them but that was just…Perfect
“standig ovetion clapping my hands” Thank you, this is perfect.
Sea, you said you dont write much about Alice, but I want you to know that I read this with the same goofy smile you probably had on your face. You did a terrific job with this one….thanks!!!! (clapping my azz off)
DAYUM girl! Well I WAS going to write something for the challenge but I think you just buried the competition alive. LMAO On writing Alice, you did her justice. I also loved the B&T tie-in of course. =D
You were right on point w/Alice. Sometimes another’s grief helps us to work through our own difficulties like B & T.
damn, it was so good that now i’m scared to post, it will pale in comparison…BRAVO!!!!
very nice… : )
While this is an “Alice” story, there’s something familiar about it. OH YES! I know now… the tone of this story reminds me of one of my favorites on this site…”If it is meant to be…” or maybe then again “When you get it, do you still want it?” You warm my heart… or should I say “fill my pool”? Thanks Sea. :)
very, very nice!!!
Just WONDERFUL……as always my bestest of bestest writers!! You are superiour in all you do. Thank you for showing us your diversity. T
That was great. You are such an excellent writer that I don’t think you could write a bad story even if you tried. I just love everything you write.
A wonderful and emotional goodbye to Dana. Alice finally lets go of her pain. Excellent writing, Sea, as are all your posts. I can just picture Alice saying those words her show. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Amazing. That was perfect, just perfect. Fabulous, I’m in tears from it all. You’re Amazing.

That was brillant. The fire analogy was spot on. Very nice.
Wow! Wonderful! ^_^
Perfect
Just wonderful. Thanks.
Sea, I guess that was a hard one for you to write – but it was beautiful and heartfelt. Thank you.
Hey Sea! That was wonderful. I must admit I chuckled when I saw the post wasn’t purely Alice. Just couldn’t stand not to have Bandt in there could you? I loved this! Let’s hope this is how season 4 opens up.
That was great! That would be a perfect way to start our S4! That just made may night!
Bravo, that was so perfect. You had Alice down pat. and the gang meeting her after the show was the icing on the cake, thanks
Wow, excellent, I’m glad I checked this one out because it was very touching. Well written!!!!!!! Gives me warm fuzzies, thanks!
that was perfect I hope that they will think about doing somethink like this on the show that was great I loved it
Simply beautiful… absolutely perfect!!!
This was really beautiful, and, strangely enough, helped me put the Dana to rest… TV emotions back on track. Love the Defending Your Life reference (love that movie!), as well as Katharine Hepburn (not that she really needed a plug), and I always adore your treatment of our girls Bette and Tina – and how you always make sure they end up together in a way that is right and believable. You wrote Alice to well, complete with babbling and tangents, and I could picture her saying all those things. Thanks for sharing your wonderful story, and I look forward to your next post!
Very sweet, Sea. I notice you smoothly included a B & T reunion as well, you sly gal. Oh and “Defending your Life” – love that movie.
Absolutely fantastic story.I shed a few tears while reading it. Just beautiful! Are you planning on writing other chapters? I do hope so!
congratulations on a win, it was the best :)
