Alice’s voice – “But after a while, Bette got annoyed with her childish antics and broke up with her right in front of Shane.”
Melissa gives Shane a steamy kiss out of the blue, surprising her. Alice sees it and calls her friend’s attention again. Bette looks at them and sighs, shaking her head.
Bette – You know what? Let’s go!
She and Alice grab their purses and walk over to dancing couple.
Bette – Excuse me …
She says, looking annoyed.
Shane and Melissa stop dancing and turn to them. The actress has a winning smirk for having gotten Bette’s attention.
Bette – We are leaving.
Melissa nods smiling and looks at Shane.
Melissa – I have to go.
The gallery owner points to herself and Alice.
Bette – I said that we are leaving. You can stay all you want.
Melissa – How am I going home?!
Bette points to the hairdresser and speaks sarcastically.
Bette – Why don’t you ask Peter Pan over here to fly you home?
She stares at Shane with an intimidating look and leaves. Melissa pouts.
Shane raises her eyebrows.
Shane – Who is she?
Alice – Her ex-girlfriend!
Alice sends the actress a cocky smile and leaves. Melissa frowns.

The Planet, morning: Alice and Tina are still seated at the table. The producer chuckles.
Alice – That was the last I heard of Melissa. Bette’s patience had worn out. High maintenance and jealous, you know? Not Bette’s type.
Tina – Wait … how did Shane get into the nightclub? She is underage!
Alice – Ah … she is street smart! She had a tough life.
Tina – Really?
Alice – Yeah … her mom was a drug addict and she spent time in an orphanage … but she doesn’t like to talk about it.
Tina looks pensive.
Tina – Poor girl … She looks sweet …

Bette’s house, evening: Bette comes in looking tired while Tina is opening takeout boxes on the kitchen counter.
Tina – Hi baby! Just in time!
Bette – Hi Tee …
She dumps her briefcase on the chair.
Tina – How was it?
Bette – Lots yet to do …
The brunette walks over to the kitchen.
Tina – Just be patient. You have time.
Bette sighs and wraps her arms around her girlfriend’s waist.
Tina – Tired?
Bette – Very …

Shane! Great way to introduce her :-) Meg is right, Tina is full of love and adopts Shane right away as her little sister. I love how you put the gang together one by one. Btw I can’t remember if the show ever explained how Shane became Bette’s friend. Did they ever?
Tina is spending quite some time at Bette’s house. Nice how T + B seem to get closer naturally. “..and this is our bedroom.” Too cute!

I agree about Gec Q – i’m not watching but sometimes after their “news” i have a hard time even read Tibette’s story. And i may only guess how hard and uninspirid it can be for writers, who tried to write Tibette’s stories.
Sad.
I like that Tina is making friends with Shane. I am beginning to see Tina as a good judge of people. She sees the positive attributes in people and possibly the potential in individuals. I just hope that Bette will learn some of this as well.
Peter Pan – that was a hilarious reference. Its very hard to write humor. But this was good…

Frickin’ Bette is too damn funny when it comes to Tina…especially in a bar!! She soon as burn a whole in anybody with a “lazor look” and not give 2 flips who has to parish!!! HeHeHe!!!!!
She ain’t likely to apologize about her alpha-ness when Tina is being pursued. Tho I think she may convince her to cut Shane some slack.
Tina knows all she has to do is tell Bette to “c’mere” with a soft southern drawl and she’ll settle down immediately.

Now that’s one of the loveliest answer I ever read in a fanfiction ! Simply lovely…
I always felt that our dearest Bette was deeply a romantic nature but her numerous emotional scars never let her feel safe enough to take the risk to love someone – until her soulmate appear in her life, Tina.
Bette is so the opposite of Shane, who is the only true womanizer and player of the gang.
She just didn’t believe in love because of her family, that’s all.
Great chapter again, I love your story so much !!
