    A Slow Dance – Chapter 6

Tina’s heels clicked against the pavement as she quickly walked through the doors to her building in Alphaville Studios. She glanced around as she saw her co-workers walking to and from various destinations. She smiled when she saw Mack, one of Alphaville’s top lawyers.

"Tina," Mack began, a wide smile showing on his face, "I’m glad you decided to show up on time today." He walked over and patted her on the shoulder. "How are you doing?"

"I’m good, Mack." Tina smiled secretively, averting her eyes for a moment when Bette’s image flashed in her head. "Really good."

"Is that so?" He studied his friend for a moment before saying, "What did Eric do to you?"

Tine looked up, her smile unwavering, and stated simply, "Nothing."

Mack furrowed his brow and nodded, confused by the slightly ambiguous answer.

"Listen, Mack, I need to go. I have a million things to do today. I’ll see you later though, okay?"

    "Yeah, you bet."

Mack watched Tina walk smoothly to the elevator and tried to figure out what was going on. Tina was way too happy for something not to have happened, and he didn’t know of anyone doing anything to Tina with the exception of Eric. He tucked his questions away for later and walked to his car.

Tina walked to her office, nodding to a few people as she made her way over to Stephanie, her assistant. She looked down at the seated woman and smiled. "Hi, Steph."

Stephanie smiled up at her boss. "Hey, Tina. I’ve got a few messages for you, and a new script just came in. Umm…oh yeah, Eric called a few minutes ago wanting to know something about the case dealing with McClennon."

Tina picked up the message book and the new script and thanked Stephanie. She walked into her office and over to her chair, sitting down and booting up her computer. She looked over at the phone and sighed. She couldn’t not talk to Eric, she told herself as she tried to muster the courage to call him. After a minute, she abruptly grabbed the phone and dialed his number before she changed her mind. Once she heard the phone ringing, she sat back and decided to take whatever came at her. After all, she couldn’t stop it now, could she?

    1. My favorite line is this particular chapter…

“If I stay with Bette, then I stay with Bette, and if I don’t then I don’t. Whether I’m gay or straight shouldn’t matter here. It’s what I feel that does matter. And I don’t feel anything for anyone but Bette at the moment.”

      Go TINA Go!!!

    2. You can NOT be nineteen! But, hey, if you are, “Hey, Nineteen.” (That was a really cool song released a few years before you were born by Steely Dan…about an over thirty dude who meets a 19-year-old and has nothing in common with her but attraction.) But I digress.

Get ready for a semi-mega comment. If I can stop laughing. I’ve been laughing for at least 45 minutes since I tuned into your Author’s Notes. You are so f++king funny!!!

You have way too much talent…If I was an agent I’d be snapping you up and making my 15% off you pronto. Watch out for the vultures in your future.

Am I the only one who thinks Eric wanting to eat a fish dish is funny? And he orders Tina chicken? Braaack, braaack, braack, braack!!! She really is a (I hate the word lesbian) gay lady. In transition, my ass!

I am so, so , so pleased you appreciated my free association last time. Thanks for sharing the same page with me. It gets lonely sometimes.

And you’re right…no offense taken…I actually love being over thirty. Just wanted to kinda play with you a bit. Never expected an apology. If you’d given one, then I’d been offended. So there!! Backatcha!

I just really love this story and the way you write it! So, when you gonna get Bette and Tina “entangled?”

I’m really enjoying this…except for typing in this little box! Get on with your bad self!!

    3. “I’m in transition”. Well it will be over soon and you’ll be Bette’s. Finally Eric as a decent guy. Nice update, no major drama, just life moving forward. NOw off to Bette.
