A Christmas story chpt. 8…of who knows

“I was the one that was dancing with Shane. CONGA LINE!” she replied

I thought long and hard and honestly I didn’t remember her. My focus was on Tina the whole night. I couldn’t tell you who did what and how. I never took my eyes off the blond. I begin to feel a lttle bad, because this woman before me was excited about seeing me and I didn’t know her. So I lied. “oh yeah” I clapped my hands together putting on a faboulous performance. “of course I remember you. What is your name again?”

    “Abby” she replied.

Boy did I wish I never asked her that, because not only did it make matters worse, but now she took it upon herself to sit down ,and get confortable in the spot that I was relaxing in. I pouted inside, but I didn’t let her see this. You see what happens when you lie the shit comes back 10x faster than I could fucking throw it. God damn it.

“so, where’s the girl you were with last night?” Abby asked

“I don’t know” I looked away as I said this. I sure as hell wish she was here instead of you. I missed her so much. I looked up and down the beach to see if I saw some one or something that reminded me of her. I knew nothing about her besides her name. I wanted to get to know Tina more and find out about her history before she goes back home. I wish she wasn’t leaving me in a week. I wished there was something I could do to convince her to stay here with me in this glorous city beneath the trees is where we’ll be.

“so, are you seeing someone?” Abby asked

“yes” I said even though it wasn”t 100% true but it was 50% true. I would say half and half. I’m kind of in the middle. I started something, but wasn’t able to finish. Yes that sounds much much better. I thought. “are you seeing anyone?”

“no, otherwise I wouldn’t have asked you if you were seeing someone?” she replied. “how long have you two been together?” she asked
