A Christmas story chpt. 8…of who knows
Chapter 8: “When will I see you again?”
After the gang had left and went home I was able to concentrate and collect my thoughts. I couldn’t stop thinking of Tina and what she was feeling for some reason. The events of the party left me with memories that I will continue to think about for days. I wondered would she call me and when for sure. I desperately wanted to call her, but I couldn’t get the courage to make the call. I know I was the one that fucked up, but if she was thinking of me, like I was thinking of her, then maybe she just might call me instead.
I glance up at the clock and it’s after 4 p.m. I’m lonely and I feel so bad for myself. You would of thought that I did something wrong with the way I was looking. I was tired of moping around the house. I was tired of feeling sorry for myself. I needed a substitute. I could drink, but that would make me think of her. I could go for a swim, but as soon as I get out the pool I’ll remember the spot where we danced and held one another.
I could take a walk along the beach, but then I’ll begin to feel lonely and think of Tina. So, when I think about it I’m left with no options. The one person that made me feel good about being here is not here with me. I have this big house with no one to share it with. Boy am I so bored. I take a walk into the kitchen and decide to drink, regardless, of the fast that it’s a possibility that I’ll think about the cute blond. I down a shot and wipe the alcohol from lips as it begins to sting. They must be chapped.
I dig deep into my pocket and retrieve my chapstick-cherry flavor. I apply a good amount and that helps with the stinging for a while. I pour myself another shot and down it fast. I pour a third for the stripes. I don’t know what possessed me that moment to think that it was okay to operate a vehicle, but I tried to anyway. So, I grabbed my car keys and went outside. I hopped into my car and backed out of the driveway. I was driving along Sunset Blvd. to see if I saw Tina. This was L.A. there’s a possibility.
