    She made a date, she got anxious, and she got pissed

    Off in the crowd and somewhat out of sight, Gideon was watching the whole scene, preparing himself to step in just in case his sister allowed her aggression to get the better of her. He was well aware that Daniel wasn’t fond of the fact this sister was gay and to be honest, he didn’t like the guy because of that reason but Daniella was a big girl, she could handle herself. He could only hope she didn’t handle that guy in the wrong way.

    After a brief stare down between the two teens, Dano released her grip on the boys arm and extended her hand. “Shabbat shalom.” she offered.

    Daniel stared at the hand and then took a look around, several adults were staring at him with expectant faces. Grudgingly, he shook the hand, tightening his grip which was only matched by Dano. If they kept it up at this rate, someone was bound to end up in the hospital with broken fingers.

    “Why don’t we go outside?” Gideon said, his protective side finally getting the better of him as he placed his hand on his sister’s shoulder and squeezed gently.

    Both of them let go, but not without one last harsh squeeze that made a bolt of pain shoot through their arms. She wanted to take it outside and just knock the shit out of him. It wouldn’t solve anything, but at least she’d have the satisfaction in breaking his face in. Unfortunately, she was in Shul, a place of worship and she doubted God would be delighted to see her lay the smackdown in its house.

    They stepped outside and walked around the building until they made it to the back where several other kids were hanging out and talking. One or two were already having a cigarette and discussing the latest Lakers game and how crappy the team was doing without Shaquille O’neal.

    “You ok?” Gideon asked.

    Nodding silently, Dano took out her smokes and handed one over to Jessica before offering to her brother who took one for himself.

    “Alright. Well I’m gonna go school those suckers on how we don’t need Shaq attack as long as Kobe stays on point. I’ll see you guys later.”

    They said their goodbyes and shared a moment of silence as they enjoyed their smokes. Daniella had been tense before but she was slowly calming down with the help of the cigarette and Jessica’s presence.
