    She made a date, she got anxious, and she got pissed

    ‘Ugh I need a smoke.’ Dano nearly said out loud. She was sure to get a smack on the arm from her mother if she did though. Even though Mrs. Bearclaw acknowledged that her son and daughter hacked butts, she sure as hell didn’t need to hear about it. After spending an extra 15 minutes praying for the families who were affected by the recent suicide bombing in Tel Aviv as well as begging God to have mercy on her soul for the regular crap she did on a daily basis, Daniella was ready to go spark it up with Gideon and the other teenage smokers behind the Synagogue.

    She pushed past adults, muttering Shabbat Shalom and having short conversations when the situation couldn’t be avoided. Usually she loved going to shul, the communal feeling and being able to see people who she hadn’t seen for most of the week were definite pluses but she was too anxious for the day of rest to be over and done with for two reasons; one, the meeting with skinny and two, she had a date with Madison.

    Well it really wasn’t a date, they were just going to hang out ‘as friends’ and try to get back into the groove having the other back in their life. Dano had initiated it. With sweaty palms and a knot the size of a baseball in her stomach, she phoned up her ex-girlfriend on Friday with the hopes of just having a polite conversation with her. It started out that way, but “hi how are yous” eventually lead to “What’re you up to tonight?” and they made plans to ‘chill and see where it goes from there.’ Since Madison didn’t feel like driving, which made Dano suspicious in a good way, the dark skinned girl was going to pick her up around seven and they were going to head to the Beverly Center. Needless to say, she was ready to do back flips. She continued to scream victoriously while jumping up and down like a 5 year old on Redbull. Her heart told her it was a date, her head told her that it was an ‘undercover date’ while at the same time telling the party in her pants to shut the hell up already. She was determined not to screw the night up in any way whatsoever. The plan was to go with Madison’s flow, whatever she deemed as ok, was ok for her.
