Noticing the look on the older girl’s face, she gave her a chaste kiss on the cheek and smiled. “I asked her to be civil and she gave me her word so don’t worry.”
At that moment, Paula walked in.
“Hey Mrs. Carlin.” Aiden said as he took out some chinese food.
“Hi Aiden.”
Dano walked up to Paula, standing about an inch or two taller than her and squared her shoulders slightly, making her look bigger than she really was. She had heard enough stories about her in letters and phone calls from Ashley, none of the news being good. The need to protect her friend from whatever the older woman had in store came as second nature and so she was prepared for what would be dished out. Yet the manners instilled in her forced her to make a good impression.“Hi Mrs. Carlin, I’m Daniella Bearclaw.” She introduced herself and shook the older woman’s hand.
“You can call her Dano mom.” Spencer giggled at the amused look on her mother’s face.
“Dano.” Mrs. Carlin took in the girl before her. Baggy jeans that hung rather low and a shirt that was several sizes too big and a chain with a Jewish star that looked like it could weigh her neck down… she looked like a thug but she decided to play nice. “A fan of Hawaii 5-0?”
“That would be my mother.” she answered with a chuckle.
“Hi Mrs. C.” Ashley said, her hand still in Spencer’s.
Paula noticed the display of affection as well as the look in the girl’s eyes. It was one of pride and defiance. She was daring her to say something about it, but for the sake of peace and trying to reconcile her relationship with her daughter, she would keep her mouth shut. “Hello.”
“Hey everyone.” Clay said as he walked in. The group exchanged pleasantries and began taking out the rest of the food.
“Woohoo food!” Glen shouted as he made his way in the kitchen. However, his light-hearted mood fell as soon as his eyes settled on Dano.
“Hey Glen.” Aiden said in the hopes of breaking the tension that had formed between the two.
“Hey.” he replied distractedly, shooting a death glare at the girl as he sat next to his brother.

right i been following this story, and this is the first time I have commented…I think. Anyway, its one of my favs and I have been waiting for you to put up another chapter, and you certainly did not disappoint. I loved it. Post more soon. Cheers
WOW… That’s all I can really say. This whole entire story line has been incredible from the beginning. It has so much feeling, description and has an amazing plot. I sometimes have to remind myself that Dano isn’t actually a character on S.O.N. That’s how much of a talented writer you are, so thank you very much for your fanfic and post more soon!
