I pulled up to my driveway and I saw some strange car parked near the front. I didn’t think much of it. Probably one of my mothers lame hook ups.
I walked in the house to see my mom pacing in the living room going off on some cute brunette. Sitting beside her on the couch was some guy in a suit. I tried to pass them up and go straight to my room, but my mom spotted me and called me into the living room to join them. Great.

Ashley’s Mom: “Great news Ashley. You father has decided to bless you with a sister.”
Ashley: “What?!?!”
Ashley’s Mom: “ He just found out and he thought it would be a wonderful idea if you two met and became best friends and lived in the same house.”

I’m never really a fan of surprises let alone ones like this, but I couldn’t be mad at my dad. He just found out himself.

Ashley: “You’re my sister?”
Girl: “Yeah, I’m Kyla.”
Ashley’s Mom: “And according to my lawyer there is nothing I can do to get rid of her. The house is in your fathers name and as long as she wants to stay here she can. Take her for a while. I’m starting to get a headache. Show her to her new room.”

I lead her up my grand staircase and I took her to 3 different guest rooms.

Ashley: “Just pick one. It doesn’t really matter.”
Kyle: “I don’t even have any baggage with me. Just clothes for a few days. I don’t plan on staying forever. I just wanted to get to know my family.”
Ashley: “What ever. You‘re baggage enough.”

Either this girl is deaf or she just pretended to not hear my rude comments. I left her standing by the three guest rooms and I headed back to my own. I sat on my bed and looked up to see that she had followed me in.

Ashley: “Can I help you?”
Kyle: “I came here to get to know you. I was hoping we could talk or something.”
Ashley: “*sigh* Well what do you want to know.”
Kyle: “Well, I have never actually met our dad. What is he like?”
Ashley: “Absent, but when he is around it’s really great.”

All of a sudden my phone started going off. It played the song watch you sleeping by Blue Foundation
