    Temporal days

    Spencer wiped her face before placing her hand on top of Christine’s. Looking into her eyes, she whispered, “I could never stop loving Ashley…she has my heart.” Both women smiled tearfully at each other. “What do you say we make that appointment?” Spencer’s mouth hung open for a moment, “We?” Nodding, Christine handed her the phone, “Yes, you didn’t honestly think I would let you go to your first doctor’s appointment alone, did you?”

    Looking around the spotless kitchen, Ashley shook her head, completely amazed. She turned towards the backdoor when Tristan walked in, “I hope you don’t mind, but it smelled like a pair of my sweaty boxers in here.” Reaching into the fridge, she pulled out two beers, tossing one to Ashley before pointing towards the door, “You…me…meat?” Ashley grinned, following her friend outside.

    “So, who were you yelling at on the phone earlier?” Tristan belched softly before replying, “The Sammster. She’s pissed that I’m spending my last few days before the season with your sorry ass.” Ashley’s face fell, “T, you don’t have to…” Laughing, Tristan clapped Ashley’s shoulder, “Fuck, I know dude! I could so be getting laid right now!” Both women fell into comfortable silence, enjoying the light breeze and cold beer. “How long you been drinking again?” Ashley stopped in mid-chew, swallowing loudly, “T, really, you don’t have to be here.” Snorting, Tristan held her fork up, pointing towards Ashley’s face, “I didn’t hear your ass complaining when you were eating that steak. Stop bullshitting me Davies and tell me what the fuck happened!”

    Pushing back from the table, Ashley took a swig of her beer, “She wants to get pregnant.” Tristan cut another large piece of meat. Stuffing it into her mouth, she examined her friend’s face, chewing thoughtfully, “You’re not your father, Ash.” Banging her fist on the table, Ashley yelled, “Goddamn it T, that’s not what this is about!”

    Crossing her arms over her chest, Tristan frowned, “Okay, then tell me…what is it about? We all know your parents were fuckups, the operative word being were. I know you and your Dad had some rocky times, but Ash he really supported you in the end. Dude, Christine just rocks. I know she can never make up for what she did to you when you were younger, but I think she’s trying harder with you then anyone else in her life!”
