“So you like her quite a bit huh?” I asked.  He just nodded with a shy smile on his face.

“Well she is drop dead gorgeous so if she has the personality to match you better be for keeping her around” I told him.

“We have a date on Wednesday. I can’t remember the last time I had an actual date.” he said. “I know I just met her, but I feel pretty good about it.  The only thing that sucks is we are both really tied up with school so I am not sure when we are actually going to see each other.”

“Well, if you both go in to the relationship knowing that it might work out just fine.” 

He nodded in agreement.  “Enough about me, what’s your story morning glory?  It seems as though you might have a girl on your mind too.”

Aiden has known me for too long.  We can’t hide anything from each other and it is a relief to not have to try to.

“I am fucked up, Aiden.” I replied.  “Spencer seems like such an awesome girl.  We had a great time today just talking.  But she doesn’t deserve someone like me.  What if she ends up liking me more than I like her or vise versa?  How can I give her what she needs, when I don’t even know what I need?  I have been using Cass’ death as an excuse for so long, when it was just because I was too weak to move on.  I did so many drugs and I slept with so many girls that meant nothing.  What if she can’t handle that?  What if there is something about her that I don‘t know how to deal with?  How the hell do I even ask her out on a date?”  I took a deep breath with full intent of continuing all my reasons why I shouldn’t get to know Spencer more.

 Aiden stopped me by gently putting his hand over my mouth.  I looked over at him and there were tears in his eyes.

“Aiden! What’s wrong!” I said worried.  He wrapped his strong arms around me and pulled me over closer to him on the couch in a huge hug.
