Since Birth – (Chapter: 1: Diper Days)

???: “Hey there. My name’s Angela.” she reached for my hand and I just hid further behind Ashley.

Angela: “It’s ok, I’m just going to take your coat, and lunch box to put them away.” But I wouldn’t be fooled.

She reached for me again and tried to take my lunch box, I screamed and Ashley tried to push her. Another scary grownup came and picked Ashley up, putting her under his arm. She kicked and screamed. I cried as the lady reached for my hat. BIG MISTAKE, on her part. When she reached for my hat I bit her finger, chomping down on it as hard as I could with my baby teeth. The lady pulled back.

Angela: “Ow, ow, ow!!! Ok, biting = timeout’s here.” she said picking me up as I kicked and screamed.

She slipped my jacket off as I kept hitting her with my lunch box. The next thing I know, I’m sitting in a corner, by myself crying and hiccupping. I look back across the room to see Ashley sitting in a far away corner with her arms crossed and her pout face on. I got up and ran towards Ashley, but was stopped by yet another mean grownup.

That was the worst first day ever. When my mom finally came to pick us up, the Angela lady gave a report on what happened. I thought we would never have to go to that horrible place again. Alas, I was wrong. The next day Ashley and I were in Auntie Christine’s car sitting in our car seats happy and care free.

    Ashley: “Where we going mommie?”

Christine: “Daycare.” she said simply. Ashley and I looked at each other in horror.

Spencer: “But daycare is mean.” I whined. The car stopped and she took us back to the place a toddler would think of as hell. Aunt Chris took our jackets and lunch boxes and gave them to the evil Angela. I grabbed Ashley’s hand, this would become a routine throughout our daycare days.

Christine: “Make it easy on yourself, don’t separate them.” she said with a chuckle to Angela.

Angela: “Thanks, I’ll remember that.” Auntie Christine kissed us goodbye and left. Angela looked cautiously at the two of us. “Want to play with the Legos?” she asked while pointing to the other kids playing with legos. Me and Ashley just shook our heads no. Ashley pulled me along to a corner where a dollhouse was. We were fine, playing with the dolls.
