    Author Notes:

    “You win. Isn’t this what you wanted?”

    “Get a room,” Kyla teased as she squeezed past us.  “Glen!” she yelled.  Ashley broke the kiss, her eyes wide with surprise, and soon my brother had both Davies sisters chasing him through the house for very different reasons.

    I shook my head and crossed into the dining room, where a lot of people had gathered.  Our ground floor all flowed together – the formal living room into the dining room into our TV room into our kitchen.  A small wall stood in the middle of the oval so the rooms all felt separate even though they were all connected.  I greeted, smiled, and shook hands with my neighbors and co-workers who were munching from veggie trays in the dining room.  The people I really wanted to see were gathered in the kitchen. 

    I excused myself from the crowd in the dining room and walked into the tv room.  Suddenly, Glen ran straight at me.  I smiled, thinking he was running to finally hug me hello but instead, he picked me up, spun around and Ashley, Kyla, and Aiden slid into one another.

    “You can’t attack me with Spencer in my arms!” he yelled at them, still holding me several inches off the ground.  I struggled in his grasp, but couldn’t help laughing.  Ashley’s face faded into her world-famous “Your ass is mine” glare and she stomped off into the dining room where I heard her turn on her charm for our guests.  Glen put me down, Kyla grabbed a quick hug, and Aiden walked by and shoved him.  “Jerk,” Glen muttered, before turning back to me.  “SPENCERRRRRRRRRRR!!!” he roared, picking me up again, and I latched myself onto his neck and just held onto him for dear life.  I decided in that second that I’d never go six months without seeing my family again.

    “I have missed you so much,” I muttered into his neck.  He set me down and before letting go, he whispered, “I’ll tell Aiden the ring is in my jacket, right next to his lousy ten bucks.”  I stepped back from his embrace and saw happiness shining in his eyes.  “It’s an amazing ring, Spence.  She should say yes just so she can wear that thing.”  I slapped his arm, but I knew he was right.  I had seen it over Christmas when I was actually looking for earrings; I’d immediately bought it and kept it at my parents in their safe, making monthly payments until it was all paid off.  I had Glen bring it; I was actually impressed he remembered to pack it.

    1. Yes! Definitely continue! And it’s gotta be a happy ending, right? Because I think a bit of Spashley fluff is kind of needed right now. But great job on the writing. Wouldn’t it be perfect if everyone could just get along like that? Haha…I guess only in the fanfic world.
