North of Somewhere: All Grown Up – (Chapter: Unnecessary Words…)

She practically dragged Melissa out onto the middle of the dance floor, her eyes on Spencer and Lindsay the entire time. Once they were directly under the rotating lights of the massive disco ball, Ashley began gyrating almost frantically against Melissa, who either didn’t notice or didn’t care that her date’s eyes and attention were focused somewhere across the club.

Ashley’s movements were exaggerated; her fingers in Melissa’s hair, her hands sliding up the back of her shirt.

Spencer and Lindsay had made their way to the bar. Ashley watched them order, ignoring Melissa as she slid down her body like it was a makeshift stripper pole.

“Jeez, it’s really crowded in here,” Spencer said to a frowning Lindsay as she sipped her martini. She had planned to stay in for the night and catch up on some cleaning, but Lindsay had insisted they hang out. It had been a few days since their conversation in the café and Spencer could tell Lindsay missed their carefree days of hanging out as friends—nothing more.

“I have no idea what I was thinking. I don’t even like clubs like this. The sweat, the booze, the women…I could be at home right now, finishing off a trashy lesbian erotica book and eating Ben and Jerry’s.”

“Linds, we’re here so you can meet someone. Maybe if you’re lucky you can make your own trashy lesbian erotica,” Spencer replied, flashing a grin before turning her attention to the crowd. Her eyes became fixated on a couple of brunettes dancing in the middle of the floor. “Wow, look at those two,” Spencer said, pointing so Lindsay could see, “as much as I’m going to hate myself for this, I have to admit, that’s pretty hot.”

The two women were practically entangled in some over-the-top gyrating. Hands were everywhere, on hips, in hair, under the already scarce clothing. “You should get in on that,” she said, laughing as she turned to face Lindsay who was frowning even more than usual.

“The most disappointing part is that one of them looks familiar.”

“Yeah, you’re right,” Spencer said, finishing off her martini, “maybe we should get closer.”

Lindsay nodded and they made their way to the center of the floor, the lights from the disco ball hitting the two brunettes and suddenly they were more visible.

    1. well…i am going to go to work depressed now…this is what i feared would happen….i don’t like this, but I know it has to be done…awesome update…i love this story…been following it from the beginning…can’t wait to read more…PMS

    2. This chapter broke my heart, but I’m so looking forward to the day of Ashley’s and Spencer’s renewal of love. This needed to happen, but it still hurts all the same. I have to hand it to you, you are a gifted writer. Looking forward to the next chapter. PMS

    3. Okay so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the next chapter begins with how spencer chased after ashley and quit being so indecisive and now 4 months later they are happily committed…eh eh. I like that. Great chapter as always! PMS!!!

    4. Awesome as usual. I’m glad Ashley explained what happened at the club. It’s a step in the right direction or at least I’m hoping it is. Keep it up =P

    5. Oh lord. Where to begin? I’m glad I finally saw some honestly between the two girls. I’m almost glad that Ashley told Spencer that she won’t be waiting for her when she finally makes up her mind. But I just can’t believe that it’s over for good between Spencer and Ashley. I can’t wait to find out what happened in these four months. I’m sure there’s more I want to say but I just a martini and I’m a little fuzzy-headed at the moment. Would it be presumptuous of me to ask for the next update tonight? This story kept popping up in my head all day. It’s pretty much driving me crazy.

    11. You’re breaking my heart here! But, in the best possible way ever. I’ll admit that I’m that girl who obsessively thinks everything should end in Spashley (call me a dreamer haha). But, I love this story, and you surprise me with every chapter. I can’t wait for the next one!
