    Author Notes:

    She’d left the past behind her or so she thought. Now it was staring her in the face and all she could do was keep running.

     

    She realized abruptly that her skin had turned a bright red and the water was considerably cooler.

     

    She’d have to tell Madison the hot water didn’t last that long, she mused as she stepped out of the stall and grabbed her towel.

     

    She dried off quickly and efficiently.

     

    Her eyes skirted the steamed mirror and she grabbed the robe that hadn’t been there before on the door’s hook. Had Madison been in here watching her?

     

    The thought made her swallow hard and take a deep breath. She tightened the sash of her robe and wrapped a towel around her wet hair.

     

    She was going to have to ask Madison for a comb to detangle her hair.

     

    Ashley stepped out of the bathroom already speaking.

     

    “Do you have a comb I could use Mad—“

     

    Her eyes lifted from the floor and she cut herself off sharply.

     

    Stunned.

     

    She froze in the bathroom doorway and stared.

     

    Spencer Carlin was standing by the window.  Her blonde head bent close to Madison’s brown one talking quietly.

     

    They both glanced up and their combined gazes had Ashley taking a step back.

     

    “Spencer,” she managed to spit the name out without too much shock or anger. Her eyes wandered to Madison’s and she glared at her.

     

    What were they doing together?

     

    What the fuck was going on?

     

    “Ashley,” Spencer said quietly her face completely devoid of emotions, her tone bordering on cold.

     

    “And I’m Madison. I think it’s just awesome we know each others names!”

     

    Madison’s tone was sharp and full of sarcasm. Her eyes were blazing with anger as she stared at Ashley.

     

    Ashley did the one thing she’d become quite good at over the years.

     

    She ran.

     

    Not too far this time.

     

    Just back to the bathroom but it was all the refuge she needed.

     

    She had asked for a ride. A simple ride from the bus station and now she had to deal with the two of them.

     

    No way.

     

    She wasn’t going to do that. Wasn’t going to suffer through whatever they had planned. She didn’t need their shit and didn’t appreciate Madison springing Spencer on her.

     

    She’d left the both of them behind her and that was how it was going to stay.

    7. Uh OH! Im not exactly sure what is going on, but I am definitely intrigued. Both Spencer and Madison are cold towards Ashley. I have a guess, maybe, but we’ll see. Update soon.
