    She’d left the past behind her or so she thought. Now it was staring her in the face and all she could do was keep running.

    It was cold and dark. The light drizzle of rain that had been falling had turned into a steady down pour. Everything seemed dimmer and tarnished, or maybe that was just her perception of things.

     

    While she’d been standing here for over half an hour she had kept her hat pulled low and kept her sunglasses on even though it was night time in L.A.

     

    She hadn’t thought to bring an umbrella or to go to the corner store and buy one either. She didn’t care if she was wet, didn’t care if she got sick.

     

    Truth was she just didn’t care.

     

    She wanted a cigarette but she’d used her last in New Mexico and she wasn’t about to ask any of the people loitering around the bus station for one. She didn’t want to talk to anyone.

     

    She had been tempted to just walk off into the night but even in the state she was in she knew that was dangerous.

     

    She hadn’t brought anything with her except her I.D. and her guitar. No money, no food, and plenty of regrets shadowing her every step.

     

    She had made the phone call not expecting much of anything at all. Almost hoping that the number was disconnected or belonged to some one else. But it hadn’t and she’d had to ask for help. The words had been especially hard to get out.

     

    But that was just the way she was..

     

    She heard the sound of a car approaching and the slash of the headlights made her squint even behind her sunglasses.

     

    She hated neon lights or whatever those really bright lights were on newer cars. They fucking blinded a person!

     

    She squinted at the car.

     

    Green.

     

    Her favorite color.

     

    Expensive and sleek.

     

    A sexy car one she would have drooled over any other time.

     

    It came to a stop abreast from her and the passenger window slid noiselessly down.

     

    “Get in.”

     

    She hesitated realizing for the first time that she wasn’t in any condition to get into the car soaking wet as she was.

     

    The trunk popped open.

     

    She knew she wasn’t going to be told again to get in.

    7. Uh OH! Im not exactly sure what is going on, but I am definitely intrigued. Both Spencer and Madison are cold towards Ashley. I have a guess, maybe, but we’ll see. Update soon.
