    Phase two just got a lot more interesting

    Kelly: “You’re evil!” The three of us look between Sara and Kelly and wait for the punch line. Sara meets Jess’ eye and Jess’ eyes narrow before she chuckles softly and shakes her head. She lets out an amused smile before glances up to where Ashley stands at the front of the cafe with her back to us. Jess rolls her eyes and gives her girlfriend a quick kiss on the cheek before she stands.

    Jessica: “You owe me one, Spencer. And she’s only on loan!” I look to Gage’s confused expression, Sara’s excited face, and to Kelly’s slight smirk as she continues to shake her head.

    Spencer: “What?” I ask, still confused.

    Jessica: “You bitch!” She suddenly screams at me, making my eyes widen. The attention of the cafe turns to us; everyone goes silent. She then dramatically turns and hurries out of the cafe with her hands covering her eyes.

    Spencer: “Okay, what the hell was that?” I whisper hurriedly, my eyes still fixed on the door Jess just disappeared through.

    Gage: “Fuck, Dooly! No, absolutely not!” I turn to see Gage shaking her head, looking pissed.

    Kelly: “Too late now, Ash saw the whole thing and she’s on her way over here.”
    Spencer: “What the hell is going on?!” I whisper again.

    Ashley: “What was that about?” She asks as she takes Jess’ old seat, across from me. “Was Jess crying?” She asks the table as she eats a chicken nugget. What just happened is erased from my thoughts. Ashley isn’t sitting next to me. I stare down at the tray full of chicken nuggets that I got her and moodily push them around. I ignore the deep sigh from Gage as the table grows quiet, just immersed in thoughts of Ashley.

    Gage: “I have something I need to tell you, Ash.”

    Ashley: “Shoot.” She answers distractedly. I keep my eyes on the table and continue to wonder what Ashley’s problem is.

    Gage: “You’re not going to like it.” She warns her.

    Ashley: “Oooookay?” Why hasn’t she made a move to fix things yet?

    Gage: “Jess and I broke up.” She informs her. Wait…what? I look up from the table to see all eyes on a confused Ashley.

    Ashley: “What the hell are you talking about?!” Yeah, what are you talking about?! Aw…Ashley has a little bit of catsup on her lip. It wouldn’t be a big deal if I just leaned over the table and lightly brushed my thumb across her gorgeous full lips to get rid of it, right?…

    Gage: “She found out the truth.” Damn, she licked her lips and got rid of the catsup. But she doesn’t need to know that. I could just pretend that there was a little more there…

    Ashley: “The truth about what, Gage?!” Her eyes are so beautiful. They just changed to the most intense brown with golden flecks…

    Gage: “About my feelings for Spencer.” I love it when she furrows her brow. She looks all cute and contemplative…

    Ashley: “What about your feelings for Spencer?” She demands. I love how she says my name. Each syllable sounds so right on her tongue. God, her tongue. I want her tongue in my mouth, in my pussy, on my skin…

    Gage: “I want to be with Spencer.” Fuuuuuuuck! Ashley’s eyes just went to molten gold! She has her jealous look on! She looks so freaking sexy! Wait. Why does she look jealous? Think fast, Carlin. What did Gage just say? She said something about me…something about her…OH SHIT!

    Spencer/Ashley: “WHAT?!”

    10. Grrr! I hate getting a late comment in, bloody time zones! But anyway, that was a stroke of genius. Does this mean that Spencer gets to kiss Gage?? Please? Favours can be offered?!?! Ashley’s best friend and her Spencer? Uh, oh. Sparks are gonna fly but I hope it’s not too much for Ash, she may be stubborn but if she sees Spencer ‘with’ someone else I’m thinking it might be the push she needs, but in the wrong direction.

    11. babe that was SO good, so heartbreaking when ashley left the dress shop with tears in her eyes sadface! i have a hunch that there is more to this than ashley thinking spencer will move back to ohio, just a hunch. cause i’m detective like that ya know?… i’ve very nervous about this gage ashley spencer long triangle, i don’t think it will turn out as planned, again just another hunch. :-) can’t wait to read more

I wish Ash would hurry up and figure out that Spencer isn’t going any where. I love this story so worth staying up until almost 6 in the morning to read. PMS ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
