    Phase two just got a lot more interesting

    To be honest, the last thirty-seven hours have been painfully horrific. I have not touched, kissed, smiled, held, or spoke to Ashley in last thirty-seven hours. That isn’t including when she dumped me or when I threw myself at her.
    Gage, Jess, and I spent most of last night in the hole coming up with different ways to make Ashley understand how amazing she is and different ways I can get her back. Or try to anyway.

    The worst part…the terribliest worsest most unbearably horribliest part was walking back into my dorm room to see Ashley fast asleep in her old bed. Not in my bed- not in our bed. Despite knowing that Ashley has only dumped me because of her own insecurities and that she does love me in spite of dumping me…I couldn’t hold back my tears.

    I immediately left the room and took off down the long hallways of the school, holding in my tears until I hit the crisp Vermont air. Once I reached the grounds, however, I sobbed openly, shaking hard, and shivering from the cold.

    I wrapped my arms tightly around my body as I blindly ambled around the large campus with tears streaming down my face. I knew, in that moment she ended it, that it would be hard not being with her. But that- seeing her in her old bed, knowing that I wouldn’t be falling asleep in her arms, not waking up to her smile and roaming hands…my heart- I felt as though a heavy weight has taken its place. No, scratch that- nothing is in its place.

    I quickly swiped at my tears and tried to control my panicky breathing as I took yet another lap around the deserted soccer field.

    Janitor Amie: “You lost?” I heard grunted from a few feet away in the shadows.

    Spencer: “Who’s there?” I asked, surprised and a little nervous. I watched as Janitor Amie sauntered out from behind a shed next to the school. She was wearing her usual stone-washed jeans and dirty flannel shirt. “Oh, um, hi Janitor Amie.” I mumbled as I ducked my head shyly.

    Janitor Amie: “You lost?” She repeated again as she drew nearer. I just shrugged my response as I tried to hide my tears. “It’s late.” She grumbled back.

    10. Grrr! I hate getting a late comment in, bloody time zones! But anyway, that was a stroke of genius. Does this mean that Spencer gets to kiss Gage?? Please? Favours can be offered?!?! Ashley’s best friend and her Spencer? Uh, oh. Sparks are gonna fly but I hope it’s not too much for Ash, she may be stubborn but if she sees Spencer ‘with’ someone else I’m thinking it might be the push she needs, but in the wrong direction.

    11. babe that was SO good, so heartbreaking when ashley left the dress shop with tears in her eyes sadface! i have a hunch that there is more to this than ashley thinking spencer will move back to ohio, just a hunch. cause i’m detective like that ya know?… i’ve very nervous about this gage ashley spencer long triangle, i don’t think it will turn out as planned, again just another hunch. :-) can’t wait to read more

    12. omgg how could i forget to comment on the character that’s coincidently named after me, same spelling and everything…you think she’s named after the song too? weird…anywhooo i really hope you don’t think i smell and wear flannel shirts…are you trying to tell me something? also…love the title ‘sage’ just realized why, get a charger because i refuse to have radio silence tonight

    16. ROFL! Freakin perfect!! Freakin perfect dude. I mean, ugh, that’s got to be one of my favorite scenes:: You bitch! I wanna be with Spencer. Oh my, please bring me the drama. I GOTTA know what happens. Darn you for leaving it there. I hate the suspense…

    19. OH. MY. GOD. i so dislike you right now, not really. the end was classic, i love how Spencer was so oblivious even after Gage figured it out. I wish Ash would hurry up and figure out that Spencer isn’t going any where. I love this story so worth staying up until almost 6 in the morning to read. PMS ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    25. lmao i knew it the minute jess said she’d owe her one, that is freaking hilarous cuz yeah gage is the only one to stand up to ash and the two can seriously go toe to toe. wonder how this is going to play out with jess and gage having to pretend to be broken up pms

    28. OH! I was wondering why the chapter was named ‘Sage’ LMAO…Now I guess I know! I hope Ash comes to her senses and takes Spencer back…I wonder what the poems and songs and letters said, the ones Spence found on the roof. PMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
