I Could Never Forget About You – (Chapter: I need to say it)

Answers that I’m now more than ready to give her.

“I was also scared.” I say after moments of silence.

“Scared of what?” She asks, sitting cross-legged across from me on the couch. She wants to catch every one of my expressions.

“Scared of breaking up…but it happened anyway.” I reply sadly. I’m surprised tears haven’t made their way down my eyes yet.

“Spencer you know why I had to do it.” She says quietly. I know why she had to do it, I just wish it didn’t have to happen.

                    “I know…” Is all I can say.

“But what makes you think we would’ve broken up if you told me the truth.” Ah, the million dollar question, that took even me a long time to figure out.

“Because Ashley, we would’ve been miles apart…I wouldn’t…I wouldn’t be able to touch you, kiss you, hold you…” Here come the waterworks. I guess it was only a matter of time till the made an appearance.

“Shh, it’s okay.” Ashley says soothingly, as she makes herself closer to me. She’s caring for me.

“No, it’s not okay.” I say, pushing myself away from Ashley.

“Yes Spencer it is, okay? It’s been years…you’re here now.” She pulls me back into her body, holding me with everything she has.

“I still hate my mom for making us move.” It’s the truth, it’s all her fault.

“Spencer, you have to realize it wasn’t her choice…you know how long it took me to look past everything and understand that?”  She asks, wiping away the stray tears.

“How long?” I look up at her.

“Two years…but I did it, and you should too.” She replies.

“Why’d you call me on new year’s eve?” I decide to take a change in direction.

“Nice change of pace.” She takes her arm off from around my shoulder. I get nervous for a moment, thinking I hit a sore spot but then I notice she hasn’t move away from me.

That’s got to be good right?

                    “Sorry, it’s just…I’m curious.” I reply.

    1. I really love this story. I’m glad Spencer finally laid it all there and got everything off her chest. I can’t wait to see where their friendship goes. pms!!

    2. i like this calm, mature, put-together ashley a lot :) oh who am i kidding- i like just about every version of ashley :) but its nice to see her as the more responsible one every now and then. if there was a 4th season of son i def wouldve liked to have seen spencer go through something big and ashley step up and be the strong, supportive one. she was def headed in that direction. awww… i really miss the show :( but thank you soooooo much for writing- its actually better than the show would be- with all the interference of networks and such.

    3. Great update, I’m so glad they talked. and I like that they’re not jumping into things…even if I really wanted to them to…i don’t know…jump into bed with each other. but great update and pms!
