    I guess i’m staying the night.

     

    I’d rather it be Ashley, but I’ll take what I can get.

     

                    “I can turn the fire place on…”

     

                    “Please.” I give her a shy smile. As she gets up I notice once again how beautiful she looks, and how much I want to touch her body again. Just like I used to.

     

                    “Okay…” She makes her way back onto the couch after turning it on. That was quick.

     

    She’s sitting back down on the couch facing me, and I know that right now is the time I start talking. I’m scared, there’s no denying that.

     

                    “I’m an idiot,” I sigh.

     

                    “No you’re not Spencer.” Ashley reassures me.

     

                    “Yes I am Ashley…God I…I lied to you…continuously.” I continue. It feels good to atleast get something off my chest.

     

                    “You did…” Okay, she’s not making this easier. Unfortunately I expected that.

     

                    “And I need you to know, I’m so sorry.” I look into her eyes that are just studying me, my every move.

     

                    “I do…but why?” I don’t understand.

     

                    “Why what?” I ask.

     

                    “Why’d you lie?” She asks. Oh, so that’s what she was talking about. Getting right down to the important stuff I see.

     

                    “Honestly?” She nods her head, urging me on. “Because I thought it would be easier.” I reply.

     

                    “What would?” She asks. Wow she really wants to know everything.

     

                    “Us, you…me.” I sigh.

     

                    “How? How would that be easier?” She asks. I don’t really have a great answer for that, but I’ll give her the best one I have.

     

                    “Because I knew if I had told you the truth, I would’ve broken your heart…and that would’ve broken mine.” I told you I don’t have a great answer to give her.

     

                    “What you did still broke my heart Spencer.” She says sadly. The tiredness in her eyes is gone, now all that’s left are questions.

     

                    “I know, I know…I didn’t really plan it all out.”  I say defeated as I fidget with my fingers.

     

                    “No.” She chuckles. My eyes dart up at the sound of it, I know now she’s left the past in the past and just wants answers.

    3. i like this calm, mature, put-together ashley a lot :) oh who am i kidding- i like just about every version of ashley :) but its nice to see her as the more responsible one every now and then. if there was a 4th season of son i def wouldve liked to have seen spencer go through something big and ashley step up and be the strong, supportive one. she was def headed in that direction. awww… i really miss the show :( but thank you soooooo much for writing- its actually better than the show would be- with all the interference of networks and such.

    4. Great update, I’m so glad they talked. and I like that they’re not jumping into things…even if I really wanted to them to…i don’t know…jump into bed with each other. but great update and pms!
