I Could Never Forget About You – (Chapter: I need to say it)

    “I…I’m ready to talk.”

“Now?” Ashley rubs her eyes tiredly.

“Yes now.” I reply. If I don’t get it out now I might never.

“Spence it’s,” She takes a look back in her apartment. “Two o’clock in the morning.”

Heh, almost forgot about that little detail.

“Yeah, I know. I had a whole bunch of caffeine.” I couldn’t stop drinking coffee; I have so much energy right now it’s not even funny. I mean I can’t even stay still.

“Oh my God, did I wake you?” I ask noticing she hasn’t even let me in yet.

“No, no…come in.” She opens the door wider, pulling me inside. It’s cold, I mean it was cold in the hallway too but it’s practically a freezer in here.

“Do you have coffee by any chance?” I ask because, hey you can never have enough right?

“Um no…not at this hour…but I think you’ve had enough.” We make our way to her couch sitting not too close, but not too far away either.

“There’s never enough.” I reply, fidgeting with my hands. My knees won’t stop bouncing up and down, and she notices.

“Spence, calm down.” She places her hand on my knee, stopping all of my movements. I take a few moments to compose myself, and then look into Ashley’s worried eyes.

                    “Sorry.”

“You know you don’t have to do this right now right?” Yes I do. There won’t be any other time for me.

If you haven’t noticed, I’m pretty prone to chickening out.

“I know, but I think this needs to be done…sooner than later.” I reply, situating myself on her very comfortable couch.

“Okay then…I’m listening.” She leans back into the cushions, making herself comfortable for the long conversation that’s about to ensue.

Did it just get colder? How does she sleep in this?

“Ashley, its freezing in here.” I voice my thoughts.

“Yeah, sorry…I don’t sleep with the heat on.” She gives me an apologetic smile.

“Do you have like, a quilt or something?” I ask. Something’s got to warm me up right?

    1. I really love this story. I’m glad Spencer finally laid it all there and got everything off her chest. I can’t wait to see where their friendship goes. pms!!

    2. i like this calm, mature, put-together ashley a lot :) oh who am i kidding- i like just about every version of ashley :) but its nice to see her as the more responsible one every now and then. if there was a 4th season of son i def wouldve liked to have seen spencer go through something big and ashley step up and be the strong, supportive one. she was def headed in that direction. awww… i really miss the show :( but thank you soooooo much for writing- its actually better than the show would be- with all the interference of networks and such.

    3. Great update, I’m so glad they talked. and I like that they’re not jumping into things…even if I really wanted to them to…i don’t know…jump into bed with each other. but great update and pms!
