Everything Changes After Spending 7 Months Apart – (Chapter: You change your mind like a girl changes clothes!)

Calm down there, killer. It isn’t really that big of a deal. A little frustrating, yes – a little derogating, definitely – but should one person piss you off this much? No. You don’t take her advice just as much as she doesn’t take yours.

I suppose Voice is right. I shouldn’t let it get to me. It is just hard to not let it get to you when all you have ever known is having your voice unheard. I’ll meditate it out tonight and I’ll be fine all over again.

“Hey, can you call me around nine tomorrow if you’re still up?” She goes on explaining why.

“I’m always up,” I say. “I’ll call you at nine okay?”

We say our goodnight’s and I turn my attention back to my laptop screen.

“Okay, I’m back.” I type out to Aiden.

It takes a long time for him to respond. “Ok, you remember how you asked me to get you and Ashley some alcohol for this weekend?”

I had almost forgotten about that. I should tell him to not worry about it and to forget all about it. Ashley is done with him – it’s time for me to be too. But nothing sounds better than a stiff shot of liquor right now. So instead I say, “Yeah, what about it?”

“Well I finally got my hands on some. Do you want me to bring it by your place tomorrow?” he asks me. He suggests that he could be by my place around two in the afternoon and that we could hang out.

Don’t do it. You know what he expects. Beside, Ashley would probably be pretty damn furious.

But good old Jose Cuervo has never let me down. Nor has Jack Daniels, or even Evan Williams for that matter. Those are the only boys to never let a girl down. “I’ll let you know tomorrow. I’ll text you when I wake up.” I tell him.

Okay, so it was a slight stretch of the truth since I didn’t plan to go to sleep at all. But that gave me enough time to call Ashley at nine and explain it to her. I’ll get her approval and then we will have plenty of alcohol to drink over the weekend.

    1. I truly feel like I understand a bit about everything that’s going on in here, from my own personal experience. the changing definition of what you two are and what goes on between you; stepping aside to let the other make mistakes on their own but being there to help out when it becomes overwhelming; not wanting to lie especially about something so big, and especially because you want to regain the trust that someone once had in you; feeling frustrated that your advice is never really listened to; right down to the sleeping while the sun is out, although I’m trying really hard to kick that habit. I think a lot of it is because I went through something a tiny bit similar with my ex best friend. not nearly as involved as this situation, but I definitely get it. and being that this is all true to life, I’m a bit worried about the “aiden” situation, so I just will say be careful! as always you know I wish you luck with this situation, and I hope the weekend goes well for you!

    2. just saw this was up, as I’m heading to bed, so I wanted to let you know I’ll be reviewing tomorrow! well, later today I guess. just a heads up for ya. ‘night for now.
