    Completely Incomplete – (Chapter: 40 and 41)

“Nonsense, Spence. We’re coming. Glen should be coming in tonight, though. He only lives about 15 or 20 minutes away.”

    “Really?”

“Yup. The hospital isn’t too far from Cincinnati.”

“Oh, cool,” I replied. “Um… did you, uh…did you tell Ashley what happened, by any chance?”

    “I did. Is that alright?”

“Yeah, of course. What did she say?”

“She was pretty upset… distraught, even. I told her what I knew… it was this morning, right when I heard, so I didn’t know much… and that I’d call her when I found out more. I tried calling her right before your mother and I booked our tickets for tomorrow, but it went straight to her voicemail.”

    “When was that?” I asked.

“Mmm, about 4 hours ago, I believe. We found out this morning and then spent awhile trying to find a flight.”

    “O-okay… I, um… I guess I’ll try to call her…”

“Alright, well, we’re leaving tomorrow morning, so if you can, call us when you wake up. If not, we’ll see you tomorrow.”

    “I’ll try. Love you, Dad.”

“Love you too, honey.” I hung up the phone and immediately picked it up again, dialing Ashley’s number as quickly as I could. But, like my dad said, it went straight to voicemail. Defeated, I put the phone down for good and tried to get back to sleep. Suddenly, though, a familiar face appeared.

    “Spencer?”

    “Logan?”

“Hey!” he said. “How are you feeling?”

“So-so… I should be fine, though. What about you?”

“Good. I broke my wrist pretty bad, but they gave me some crazy painkillers so I’m good now,” he laughed, fidgeting with the sling that held his cast.

“I’m glad to hear it. And thank you so much for helping with everything… after I fainted.”

“No problem. Just happy to help.”

“Are you staying here for awhile?” I asked.

“No… I’m actually heading back to L.A. tonight. And I’m getting a free flight!” he said with a grin.

“Ugh… I never want to fly again.”

“This was, like, a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing… I think you’ll be good from here on out,” he remarked. “How long are you stuck here for?”

    “A few days, at least.”

    “Bummer.”

“Yup,” I replied. “My family’s going to come though. My brother actually lives close by, so he’s supposed to get here sometime tonight.”

    2. Yay! So glad to see Spencer’s alive and Ash is already in Ohio! They belong together. I’m happy they are working things out now and I really love this story.

    3. You’re killing me here. Two updates and they still haven’t had THE conversation. The conversation about what was going to happen now and what they are to each other exactly. I need to know what’s going on. So sweet of Ashley to run to Spencer’s side. Just be together already, you know you both want it!

    4. So this was Ashley’s reality check right? After her emotional reaction to finding out that Spencer was alright, they can’t just keep their status quo. *sigh* Once this story is over, I’m going to have some serious withdrawal
