    14. Jane Rizzoli, person of interest in disappearance

”WHAT!” Cavanaugh bellowed at the door, bidding Korsak enter. Vince enteted gingerly and voiced immediately, ”We’ve got to get her out of this. How do you want to proceed?”
”Normally, I would tell you to use evidence provided by my brilliant medical examiner to one of my top detectives. However, I don’t have that luxury, Korsak, because one is missing, the other is locked up and the bank account of one Jane Rizzoli received a $350,000 deposit this week. Is that motive, I don’t know. In addition I have six missing bodies along with all the evidence linked to them.” Cavanaugh’s voice raised again as he concluded with,
”Explain any of that, Korsak!” Shawn stood, ordering Korsak out.
    ”Find me something!”

Jane was still leaning forward almost in a meditative state and had just put her face in her hands when she heard a gentle knock. Before she could answer, Chang entered and closed the door quietly behind herself.
”Detective, I wanted to make sure you had some lunch,” Suzie indicated the bags in her arms.
”I finished with your phones and Dr. Isles’ Ipod. You might want to use her headphones to listen to music and relax if you will be here a while. The burger and fries are from the café. Let me know if you need anything else.” Leaning forward with the bag, Suzie whispered, ”check your phone.” Then she smiled and Jane thanked her as she made her way back to the morgue.
READ AND DELETE I am fine.
The message couldn’t be from anyone other than Maura, but how? Jane did as she was instructed and deleted it. A cryptic conversation followed with Rizzoli glancing up at the glass periodically to make sure she would not get busted on her phone.

Jane erased the message again and was overcome with soft tears of relief. Not only was Maura alive, but she did not run out, did love her and was with PD. Even a cynical housewife can be a detective, Korsak. Jane intended to taunt him later. Knowing Maura was alive relieved Jane to the point that she didn’t care if she had to sit there a week. At some point, it would be resolved.
Still, who could Jane trust to tell? Obviously, Chang knew. Jane wondered how she figured it out or if there had been an additional message to Suzie.
Korsak had asked for clues, so Jane snatched up the notebook, and very delicately penciled

    1. I have been looking forward to a new update to this story. I love Rizzoli and Isles and you make a very interesting story with them.
I hope you bring back Maura safe. but it is very good that she was able to send a message to Jane that she is fine.
I’m looking forward to the next chapter.

      • You actually changed the direction of this story. There were no other comments as to Maura’s missing, so I went with your “short term ” idea. Originally I was thinking 3 or 4 months. Thank you for following.

    2. Great update. Love your story and you are doing a great job writing this story. It’s wonderful that Maura was able to get a message to Jane that she was alive and well. Now its up to Korsak to unravel the things that Maura sent her. When Paddy sees the newspaper or his contacts tell him that Jane has been detained as a person of interest in Mauras’ disapparance maybe he will speed up the investigation so she can get back home to Jane and their life. This is a great story, can hardly wait for the next chapter. Thanks for posting and the longer chapters are much appreciated.
