You Told Me You Love Me Part 10
Although Fairbanks has also lost her memory four years ago due to brain contraction caused by the chemo, her comeback on tennis is remarkable as she has just won this year Wimbledon. And her sense of humour is still with her. It is just like talking to the old Dana Fairbanks, who the author had interviewed after she won the Mercedes Cup five and a half years ago.
Alice sighed. Four years had passed but Dana still hadn’t recovered from memory loss. Well there was progress anyway; she managed to recall things that happened in her childhood and teenage years, her family and her profession. She remembered everything but her lives and friends in West Hollywood. Alice looked away from the magazine and heaved a sigh. They had never kept in touch throughout the years apart. She knew all about Dana through the magazines interviews and from her friends. Her friends knew very well that she was giving Dana space and time to heal and remember about her past. About their pasts. They would call Howie once a month to ask for Dana’s well being and then they would sort of tell her during the breakfast at the Planet. She was grateful for what her friends did. They were her pillars throughout the years without Dana beside her. What she had done to deserve them. She brought her gaze back to the pictures. Well at least she is happy, she thought to herself. She was snapped out from it when her cell phone went off. She looked at the caller ID and smiled.
“Hey Shane.”
“Hey Al wanna join us at Milk? Bette, Tina, Carmen and I will be there in half an hour time.”
“Ok see you there.”
“See you.”
Alice stood up and walked towards the cabinet. She put the magazine at the ever growing piles, all consisted of the interviews on the tennis player. She looked at them for a while and turned around, humming songs and getting ready for the evening.
Dana put the magazine on the coffee table and walked towards the window. She looked out at the garden through the window and smiled to herself. She was satisfied with the contents written in the interview. They were just what she had told the author. Then she brought her gaze to the sky. It was clear and filled with stars everywhere. What a beautiful sight, she thought. Dana didn’t know why, but every time she looked up the sky she felt contented. She thanked to anyone up there who had given her a second chance to live life to the fullest. Well how can she ask for more? She was a survival of breast cancer and now the champion of Wimbledon. And she had a very supportive parents and brother.

Aww poor Alice. I bet she’s had arough 4 years with no contact. Like MaGoose said it’s nice that despite the memory loss and the years apart Dana still feels that connection to Alice. I’m glad she’s ready to go face her past. Get my girls back together. Can’t wait for your next post.
Yeah Dana go back and be with the woman you know you love :)

Four years? Wow. I am glad Dana is healthy and her career is strong. But Alice having no contact for that long? Poor Alice. I am glad her friends are there for support. I like that even with the memory loss, Dana still feels that special connection to Alice. I’m glad Howie is giving Dana the gentle push she needs to go where her heart is. Thanks, uhhuh!! Can’t wait to see more.
