You Told Me You Love Me
Alice on the other hand couldn’t figured out how many red lights she had violated as she drived like a mad person in order to get to Dana. She made it to the hospital in 6 minutes and pulled up at the car park. She ran to the main building and headed for the ICU department. She stopped when she was steps away from Dana’s room. She exhaled as she walked slowly over the corner for the room. Her heart was beating out of pace and her legs were shaking. She saw her mother sat in front of the room, with her hands covering her face. She turned and looked into Dana’s room through the window, she felt as if her heart had stopped beating when she saw a group of medical staffs attending to Dana.
"Clear!" she heard the doctor yelled and saw him placed paddles on Dana to shock her. After a while the doctor shook his head when he noticed no reaction on Dana. Alice saw this, her worst fear came into the picture.
"Noooooo!!" Alice began to cried hysterically upon seeing that. She collapsed onto the floor as her knees can no longer bare the weakness. Lenore immediately reached for Alice.
"Oh my god!" Alice cried out over and over again, with her mum holding onto her. Shane and Bette came running into the corridor. Tears immediately running down theirs cheeks when they say what happened in the room. Bette moved to Alice’s side and hugged her while Shane just stood in front of the window. They felt as if the world had stopped spinning. Each seconds felt like years.
"Clear!" the doctor yelled again. After a while, there was still no heart beat detected. He looked at the staffs in front of him. He shook his head and exhaled. He took up the paddles and motion the nurse to put oil on it. He rubbed the paddles together.
"One last time. Clear!" the doctor yelled and placed the paddles onto Dana and shocked her.
"Nooooo, Dana, don’t leave me alone!" Alice screamed out on top of her lungs. Shane collapsed onto the floor, crying. Bette was now sitting on the floor with her hands covering her face and Lenore was holding Alice tightly as if her life depended on it. They couldn’t accept the fact that they were going to say goodbye to Dana in few minutes time. Alice felt as if her body was not hers anymore, as she now lay motionless in her mother’s arms.
The room was filled with silence as the doctor looked at the monitor intently. He sighed and began to rolled up his sleeve for his watch to announced the time. Before he could utter out a word, all the medical staffs including him were taken aback when they heard weak beeping sounds coming from the equipment. The doctor immediately looked at the monitor. He smiled as he saw sign of heart beats. It was slow at first but after a few minutes Dana’s heart beats returned to normal rate. The other nurse reported to him that the blood pressure had began to increase to normal level. The staffs smiled to each other and exhaled in relief. They then filled her with necessary medications and checked on Dana and the equipment again. The doctor wrote something on Dana’s medical record sheets and began to walk out from the room.
As they heard the door opened, none of them had the courage to lift their face and looked at the doctor. The doctor slowly made his way to Alice and tapped lightly onto her shoulder. Alice raised her head slowly, and looked at the doctor with tears on her eyes.
"Miss Alice Pieszecki?" Alice could only nod her head.
"Well, Dana is fine now." Alice eyes lid up upon hearing this. There was a slight grin on her lips. Bette, Shane and Lenore lifted their face immediately to look at the doctor.
"What?" Alice asked with her eyes opened wide.
"Miss Dana Fairbanks is fine. Her heart stopped but we managed to revive her and her condition is stable now. If Dana keeps on fighting like this I could see a very high chance of her waking up in few weeks time. Well, there’s no guarantee on this but I could see her determination to live. So, good luck." the doctor stood up.
" You can go in after they cleared the room. But just two person at a time." They nodded. The doctor smiled at them as he walked away.
They group looked at each other and exhaled in relief. Alice hugged her mum tightly.
"She’s alive, mum. She heard me when I asked her not to leave me alone."

Great update, uhhuh! I also love that Lenore is acting like a true mom. The flower pot thing was great — so many little moments make up a relationship. Dana’s box of letters is intriguing and heartbreaking. And Dana is fighting!! Good for her. Thanks so much! I can’t wait to see what happens next…
uhhuh, hooray, hoorah., THANK YOU for letting D live. There is no need for your apology. Your writing hit home and brought out my emotion. That meant you did an excellent job. As I have mentioned earlier, I have separation issues. I HATE seeing love ones being taken away. This happened to be one of the worst case because it was A & D, imo, the most adorable couple on TV. That’s what it was all about. I entirely agree with you about the show’s lack of explanation. You are doing a fantastic job. Love the fact that Lenore was behaving like a normal concerned mother. Also it was great that A went to D’s apt. I can’t wait to read about the letters. I will keep a box of kleenex closeby just in case. The drama was executed beautifully started off with Lenore’s phone call. Till my dying day, I don’t think I will forget the image of A collapsing against the wall in the hospital corridor. It is one of the most unforgettable scene as I recall. I am also thrilled to see Shane and Bette being there. Your version is by far more human and reasonable. As long as D would recover some day, even if she would stay in a coma for several more updates, I don’t mind. Thank you very much for an excellent post. Lastly, please do not be discourage by the lack of comments. Judging from the number of hits on your stories including “Are you the one?”, you are doing great. Sometimes people are just a little reserved in voicing their opinion. It took me a good long time before starting to comment. So don’t worry. Looking forward to your next post.
