You Told Me You Love Me

Alice jumped up from the bed when her phone went off. She searched for her phone in her handbag and saw Shane’s on the caller ID.

"Hi Al, where are you?" Shane asked.

    "Hey, I’m over at Dana’s."

"Oohh, are you going back to the hospital afterwards?" Shane was surprised as to how Alice managed to get in.

"Yeah, I promised my mum to go there at 7."

"Ok, I’ll see you then. Want me to take away dinner from the Planet?"

"Hmm, I just want a sandwich and cofee. Thanks"

    "No problem, see you there.Bye."

"Bye." Alice hung up and looked at her phone. 5.45pm.

"Guess I just take a bath here." she whispered to herself.

Twenty minutes later she came out from the bathroom wrapping herself with a towel. She walked over to Dana’s drawer to search for clothes to wear. As she opened one of the drawers she was surprised at the sight of a box with her names written on it. She opened it and was taken aback when she realized the box contained letters and cards inside it. All of them had Alice’s London address on the envelope. Alice wondered what Dana wrote to her and was asking why Dana never posted them. She took one of the letters and started to open it but was interrupted by her phone again. "Shit" she muttered. She looked at her phone and panicked as she saw her mum on the caller ID.

"Hey mum, anything happened?" Alice asked with a concern voice.

"Alice, please come to the hospital now! Dana’s condition is not good."

"God!" with that Alice slumped her phone onto the bed and put on Dana’s clothes. She picked up her handbag and ran out from the house heading to the mini.

Lenore was scared as hell when she noticed one of the equipment that attached to Dana was blinking at a very fast rate and right after that she saw Dana’s breathing heavily. She quickly pressed the emergency button and within seconds a group of medical staffs rushed over to Dana’s room. They asked Lenore to go out as they need to clear the room. Lenore didn’t know what to do but to call Alice and then Shane and Bette.

    1. Great update, uhhuh! I also love that Lenore is acting like a true mom. The flower pot thing was great — so many little moments make up a relationship. Dana’s box of letters is intriguing and heartbreaking. And Dana is fighting!! Good for her. Thanks so much! I can’t wait to see what happens next…

    2. uhhuh, hooray, hoorah., THANK YOU for letting D live. There is no need for your apology. Your writing hit home and brought out my emotion. That meant you did an excellent job. As I have mentioned earlier, I have separation issues. I HATE seeing love ones being taken away. This happened to be one of the worst case because it was A & D, imo, the most adorable couple on TV. That’s what it was all about. I entirely agree with you about the show’s lack of explanation. You are doing a fantastic job. Love the fact that Lenore was behaving like a normal concerned mother. Also it was great that A went to D’s apt. I can’t wait to read about the letters. I will keep a box of kleenex closeby just in case. The drama was executed beautifully started off with Lenore’s phone call. Till my dying day, I don’t think I will forget the image of A collapsing against the wall in the hospital corridor. It is one of the most unforgettable scene as I recall. I am also thrilled to see Shane and Bette being there. Your version is by far more human and reasonable. As long as D would recover some day, even if she would stay in a coma for several more updates, I don’t mind. Thank you very much for an excellent post. Lastly, please do not be discourage by the lack of comments. Judging from the number of hits on your stories including “Are you the one?”, you are doing great. Sometimes people are just a little reserved in voicing their opinion. It took me a good long time before starting to comment. So don’t worry. Looking forward to your next post.
